Our always awesome annual Bogeys & Beer Benefit Golf Tournament is about to take place for the 19th year in a row, and if you haven't joined Dog Days Bar & Grill for this fun day on the links yet, then make this the year! We've got all of the information about this can't-miss event for you in today's blog.  

Dog Days is a proud sponsor of this annual Lake of the Ozarks fall golf tournament on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, mostly because it raises money for some wonderful local organizations, but also because it's the most fun you'll ever have playing golf! There will be 18 hole proxies, cool surprises at different holes, the chance to win some great prizes, and of course, beer! (Among other libations!) 

The golf tournament will take place at The Oaks at Tan-Tar-A Resort. Registration on tournament day begins at 10:00 am with a shotgun start at 11:00 am. Delicious boxed lunches will be provided by Mexicali Blues. Once the competition portion of the day is over, everyone will be heading to Dog Days Bar & Grill for dinner, the awards ceremony, and an auction featuring both live and silent auction items.

LOTS of Reasons to Rent Our Lake of the Ozarks Vacation House This Fall

The fun at the lake doesn't end with summer. You can find incredible annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks to attend year-round, and we've got the best Lake of the Ozarks vacation rental for you to stay in while you're in town enoying them! 

Dog Days Bar & Grill is still open 7 days a week throughout the fall and our heated pool will remain open as long as the weather allows. That amazing waterfront vacation house we mentioned happens to be located right next door, so you're always close to all the fun when you stay with us, plus only a short distance from all of the exciting things happening around the area. 

The Vacation House

Our luxury vacation rental is the perfect property for a large gathering of friends and family. It can sleep up to 18 comfortably with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Upstairs, there is a large living room and kitchen with all the comforts of home included, plus the master bedroom which has a king-sized bed, double vanity sink, jetted tub, and a double shower. 

Downstairs you'll find four more bedrooms, three with queen-sized beds and a fourth with bunk beds and there are also two sleeper sofas on the property. There is another large living room for entertaining with a pool table. Both levels have decks that run the length of the house. There is a dock for swimming and lounging, plus a covered boat slip available on the property as well. You can check availability online and book your favorite dates while you're there!

Between the excellent times you'll be spending in our vacation house rental and here with us at the Dog, here are some great lake area annual events you really should check out. 

SEPTEMBER

Lake of the Ozarks Air Show- Sept. 22
Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport
A day filled with exciting acts both on the ground and in the air. At one point, hundreds of pin pong balls will be released from an airplane and children are invited to race onto the field and grab them for prizes! An entertaining day for the entire family. A rain date is set for Sept. 23. 

Get The Led Out: The American Led Zeppelin - Sept. 22
Ozarks Amphitheater
While you're already in Camdenton for the Air Show, you might as well stay for this amazing concert in this wonderful outdoor concert venue. The Ozarks Amphitheater was recently voted #5 of the best live music venues in Missouri, and this excellent tribute band will be helping everyone to celebrate Led Zeppelin's 59th anniversary.  

OCTOBER

19th Annual Bogeys & Beer Golf Tournament - Oct. 3

We are proud every year to be a part of this annual golf tournament where all of the proceeds benefit many local organizations. It consists of a shotgun start, cash prizes and 18-hole proxies, silent & live auctions, and both lunch and an awards dinner provided.  

Fall Big Bass Bash - Oct. 6-7

This annual fishing tournament is for amateurs only and there is over $250,000 up for grabs in prizes! Be sure to stock up on everything you'll need for a day out on the lake at Shorty Pants Marina before heading out to win the big money. 

Thunder Mountain Fall Festival - Oct. 5-27
Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park
This already beautiful scenic attraction will be all dressed up for the fall. Festival activities take place each weekend from 9 am-4 pm and include fire pits, sarsaparilla making, duck races, corn crib, pedal tractor races, live bluegrass music, and much more. They will also have mums for sale as well as pumpkins from their Pumpkin Trail of over 1,000 pumpkins! 

MECCA Pumpkin Patch - Oct. 6-28
MECCA Family Farm, Roach
Open Saturdays & Sundays from 10 am-5pm, in addition to tons of pumpkins to choose from, you can also enjoy a corn crib, a 150-ft Big Slide, face painting, a petting zoo, hay rides, and a lot more. 

33rd Annual Fall Harbor Hop - Oct. 13

Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina will once again be one of the many stops for this popular poker run on the water. (Which makes it extremely convenient to stay here in one of our rental houses!) A $20 donation allows you to collect your 7 cards from any of the waterfront stops on the list and prizes are given out when it's over.

Two Ways to Cure Your Dog Days Cravings During Bikefest 2018

The Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest 2018 is 5 full days packed with fun and excitement. That means 5 lunches, 5 dinners, and multiple snack opportunities for you to get your Dog Days Bar & Grill cravings satisfied! 

Our menu offers enough variety for you to try something new every time that you order, plus during Bikefest you can also enjoy our delicious cooking at the "Official Passport Booth" at the Harley-Davidson Shop parking lot in Osage Beach! We know you can't spend every moment of this event at the Dog, but we can make sure that you eat well in more than one spot!

Dog Days Menu Favorites
Our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks offers something delicious for every type of taste plus the delicious drinks to wash it all down with. With a smoke-free indoor dining room, lakeside seating outdoors, and even poolside seating next to our heated swimming pools and the swim-up bar, there's plenty of room for everyone. Here are a few menu items you might enjoy, but you can see our full menu online. 

Awesome Apps
We have a great variety of appetizer items that are perfect for sharing and hearty enough to make a meal out of on your own. A couple of our most popular appetizers include: 

• Crab Legs - Boiled in our Southern Spices, sweet, succulent snow crab legs served with lemon and garlic butter.
• Hickory Smoked Wings - Smoked, then fried crispy with your choice of sauce: Original, Extra Hot, Bourbon BBQ, Teriyaki, Honey Habanero, Spicy Garlic, or our Chili & Jalapeno Dry Rub.   

Nachos & Tacos
These are a lot more than you might expect from the name alone! We've taken these classics and made them all our own. 

• Tuna Poke Nachos - Chilled yellowfin tuna tossed with a sweetened soy ginger sauce, diced mango, wakame, pickled ginger, wasabi cream, and sesame seeds on top of fried wontons. Additional Nacho choices include: Spicy Beef, BBQ Pork, and Seafood. 
• Steak Tacos - Blackened tender tips with our Southern spices, cheddar jack cheese, pico, roasted tomato, and jalapeno cream and cabbage in two flour tortillas. Other Taco varieties include: Spicy Beef, Jerk Chicken, Blackened Mahi, and Asian Shrimp.

Signature Burgers & Sandwiches
These are served in great big helpings and truly a meal you can really wrap your hands around! 

• The Ozark Burger - Among our 6 burger choices is this mouthwatering treat. A beef patty topped with Bourbon BBQ, shoulder pepper bacon, and sharp cheddar cheese spread on a brioche bun.
• Dogwood Avocado Club - Shaved smoked turkey breast, ham, crisp bacon, green leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, fresh avocado, Swiss & American cheese, and garlic mayo on wheat berry bread.  

Incredible Entrees
Here you'll find classic dinners you already know and love plus many of our original creations, like our very popular Beach Bowls. Once again, something perfect for every type of taste. 

• Thai Chicken Bowl - Tamarind marinated chicken grilled and served on top of long grain wild rice and quinoa. Topped with fresh mango, peppadew, fresh cilantro, and a sweet Thai chili sauce.
• Cali Avocado Tuna - Yellowfin tuna filet seared with lemon, basil, and thyme on rice. Served with fresh avocado, lime, seaweed salad, and pickled ginger. 

Bikefest Food Tent
Dog Days Bar & Grill will have a food tent set up in the Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson Shop parking. We'll also have a bar there with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options to keep you hydrated.

Dog Days & Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson Pair Up For Awesome Bikefest Food, Drinks, & Live Music!

Labor Day Weekend has come and gone, but the fun's not over for our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant! We are still open 7 days a week at 11 am, plus Dog Days Bar & Grill is getting ready to expand to the Harley-Davidson parking lot once again for Bikefest Lake of the Ozarks 2018, September 12-16.

With over 300 biker-friendly bars, restaurants, hotels, and campgrounds participating in Bikefest, there will be all kinds of exciting things going on all over the lake area. Even so, the parking lot at the Harley-Davidson Shop in Osage Beach will be home to a rockin' party you do not want to miss!

2018 Passport Ride
This year's Bikefest Passport Ride opens at 11 am on Wednesday, September 12 and closes on Sunday, September 16 at 3 pm. That gives you plenty of time to enjoy a few leisurely bike rides between the 24 stops on this year's list. Each passport stop has its own hours of operation. (You'll find all of the Barrett restaurants - Dog Days Bar & Grill, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, and Wobbly Boots Roadhouse - on that list!) 

For a $20 entry donation, this Passport Ride not only gives you a great list of places to visit in the lake area, but also the chance to win a 2017 FXDL 103 Dyna Low Rider! More than one passport per rider is allowed, and after getting stamped at each location, you must turn the completed passport into the "Official Passport Booth" located at Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson no later than 3 pm on Sunday. The winner will be notified by mail, so you do not need to be present for the drawing to win.  
  

Even if you're not on a motorcycle during Bikefest, you are welcome to join the excitement at both our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant and our remote location in the Harley-Davidson parking lot.
