Exciting Events Coming to Lake of the Ozarks 2021

We're in the final week of February! That's exciting for all of us at Dog Days Bar & Grill in Osage Beach because, in March, St. Patrick's Day Weekend arrives. That's always the time when the lake area seems to "wake up" from its long winter hibernation. 

Today we've got a few dates for exciting annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks that you'll want to mark on your calendar now so you don't miss any of the fun this season. Oh, and if you're coming from out of town and need a place to stay, Dog Days' luxury waterfront vacation house rental at the Lake of the Ozarks would be happy to host you!  

Opening Day at the Dog
March ??

We've been working like busy little bees here at our waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks for a while now already. It was really weird to be at our awesome summertime getaway and look outside to see the lake frozen over and covered in snow! We're more than ready to get back to warm, sunshiny days relaxing outside by the pool once again.

When we do open for the 2021 season, you'll see some exciting changes around Dog Days. (The ones we've been working so hard on over the past few weeks.) Since we are in the midst of finishing those surprises, an exact opening date has not yet been set. As soon as we have one, though, we'll be sure to let you know right away on the Dog Days Bar & Grill Facebook page, so if you aren't following us yet, it's a great time to start!

Opening Day at Shorty Pants
Friday, March 5

Our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, does have a definite opening day set to begin serving the best Cajun food & drinks at the Lake of the Ozarks once again. They will be happy to feed and entertain you until we get Dog Days open this year. 

For anyone out and about by boat, be sure to stop by Shorty Pants Marina, just down the dock from the restaurant, to stock up on everything you'll need for a fun day out on the water. 

St. Patrick's Day Weekend
Saturday, March 12-14

The lake area is celebrating St. Patrick's Day a few days early this year. That's always fine by us. Just leaves more time to party! The annual parade on the historic Bagnell Dam Strip will take place on Saturday, 3/13, which means the entire weekend will be ripe for fun at the Lake of the Ozarks! 

LOMDA Spring In-Water Boat Show 
April 16-18

This is the awesome weekend when a portion of the docks at Dog Days are filled with the newest and most exciting boats and personal watercraft out for this season. The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association (LOMDA) gives you an up-close and personal look at would could possibly be your new "toys" for an exciting summer on the water. Even if you're just window shopping (or should we say, "dock-slip shopping") there is a lot to see and do in addition to all the fun and deliciousness the Dog always has to offer.  

Spring Harbor Hop
Saturday, May 1

If you haven't joined the fun of a Harbor Hop at the Lake of the Ozarks yet, you're missing an always entertaining day on (and off) the water! For those of you that are seasoned Harbor Hoppers, you know exactly what we mean. Boaters get to travel from stop-to-stop collecting cards to create a (hopefully) winning poker hand for great prizes. 

Along the way, you also get to enjoy the live music, food, drinks, and all-around fun all of those stops have to offer. Dog Days usually hosts 2 stops right here, giving you an excellent excuse to stick around for a while when you stop by! 

Canine Cannonball
June 11-13

This popular family fun event at the Lake of the Ozarks was sorely missed last year. We're really looking forward to having the chance to bring it back once again. It's a weekend filled with incredible dogs competing in different categories to show off their jumping, fetching, and even doggy paddling skills. 

This event is also a wonderful fundraiser for the local Dogwood Animal Shelter. Start training with your dog now and keep an eye out for sign-up information later this year.  

That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the fun you'll find when you visit the lake area. You know that Dog Days will be featuring the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks all season long and we're bound to throw a few fun parties in the mix too. We're also a great meet-up spot for you and your friends when you're in town for other events happening in town. Some of those dates include:

Our lakeside bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks will be open before you know it and we promise to let that date out as soon as we've got it set. Until then, make sure all of the events that interest you above are marked on your calendar. 

If you need a place to stay while you're in town, be sure to book the Dog Days vacation rental house sooner rather than later so someone else doesn't grab it before you do! Once you start making plans to join us at Dog Days Bar & Grill this season, all that's left to do is excitedly wait for those dates to arrive!

"Cool Place, Great Food ~ My friends and I were staying in a condo right by Dog Days. One night, some members of the group wanted crab legs for dinner. We called Dog Days for the market price and decided to order carry-out. When we arrived at Dog Days, the lot was packed. I could hear a great 80s band playing upstairs. Because I could not find a place to park, I waited in the car while another woman went to get the food. There was SO much food she had to make two trips! All five of us got food we loved. They did not miss any sauces, condiments, or utensils. I would absolutely eat here again, and would love to stop in when I have more time."

Bikefest Team-Up: Dog Days Bar & Grill and Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson

Bikefest Lake of the Ozarks is happening in just a few days, September 16-20, 2020, all over the lake area. With hundreds of biker-friendly bars and restaurants participating in the event, there will be all kinds of excitement happening everywhere that you turn. 

Two of the hottest spots though will be at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant and at the Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson Shop in Osage Beach. (Because guess what... Dog Days Bar & Grill will have a presence at the Harley store too!) The Dog is making sure that both locations have plenty of delicious food, refreshing adult beverages, and the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks!

Once again for Bikefest this year, Dog Days and the Harley-Davidson store have teamed up to bring you some of the best entertainers around. Awesome live music isn't the only thing that Dog Days is bringing to Bikefest 2020. We're going to make sure everyone is well-fed and fully refreshed at both locations too.  

When you ride by our lakeside restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks to get your passport stamped, we'll have all of your Dog Days menu favorites coming out of the kitchen. These include Snow Crab Legs, Hickory-Smoked Wings, Gourmet Nachos & Tacos, Burgers, Sandwiches, Beach Bowls, and a whole lot more. There are also 4 fantastic bars to belly up to, one of which is a swim-up bar connected to our awesome pool.

Bikefest Passport Ride
Last, but certainly not least, Dog Days is one of the many stops on this year's 2020 Bikefest Passport Ride. Passports can be picked up at any of the participating stops for a $20 entry donation. 

Once you have that, you'll travel to all the stops on this year's list, getting a stamp at each one. Once completed, turn that passport in at the "Official Passport Booth" which can be found in the vendor village at the Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson Dealership. This year's prize is a brand new Harley-Davidson FLHP Road King Police Motorcycle! 

WHEW! That's a ton of awesomeness already and that's only 2 of the many, many locations that Bikefest can be found at around the lake area! Of course, you can expect the most fun and excitement to be happening wherever Dog Days Bar & Grill is at, especially when you show up and join us!

Your Labor Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks Bucket List

The lake area is gorgeous so you'll most likely want to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Our pools are an excellent place to do just that! The larger pool for the grownups has a swim-up bar filled with all of your favorite summertime drinks. There is also a family-friendly pool next to it where the kids are free to splash and play. Fun in the sun for all ages!

Last, but certainly not least, you've got to eat! Doing that at Dog Days Bar & Grill guarantees that you'll have access to food that is filling and delicious, plus drinks that will quench your thirst and taste fantastic going down! Oh... and we've added a special CRAB BOIL just for the holiday weekend!

Our Labor Day Weekend Crab Boil will be offered Friday, Sept. 4-Monday, Sept. 7, but only while supplies last. (Once they're gone, they're gone, so better come in early!) You'll get one full pound of snow crab legs, boiled red potatoes, and corn on the cob served with lots of garlic butter for only $28! 

We've also got a menu filled with a wide variety of dishes sure to satisfy the taste buds of everyone in your group - burgers, gourmet nachos & tacos, wings, specialty sandwiches, salads, Beach Bowls, steak, pasta, seafood, and much, much more! There are lots of wonderful non-alcoholic drink choices available, but if you're in the mood for something with a tasty kick, our 4 fully stocked bars have got you covered! 

There is plenty of seating indoors where it's air-conditioned. There is also lots more seating outside on the deck, around the pool, in the "Dog Pound" covered tiki bar, and upstairs on our scenic "Wooftop" Patio.

A Super September Entertainment Lineup with Labor Day Weekend AND Bikefest!

We've reached the end of another month at Dog Days Bar & Grill. Although we've still got one more weekend full of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks to go in August, it's time to give you a little sneak peek at the awesome entertainment coming your way in September. 

The first half of September isn't only filled with great live music. We're also looking forward to an always awesome holiday - Labor Day Weekend - and one of the biggest annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks - the 14th Annual Bikefest Lake of the Ozarks!

2 Stages for Bikefest Entertainment
The 14th Annual Bikefest Lake of the Ozarks will take place all over the scenic lake area on September 16-20 with exciting events taking place at multiple locations. With an event this big, we felt like the stage at Dog Days Bar & Grill wasn't quite enough. 

For that reason, once again this year we will also be hosting a 2nd outdoor stage full of awesome live music next to the vendor village at Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson. (We'll have 3 bars set up and some tasty food items available there too. More details about that coming soon!)

We're ending summer with a bang! (Fall officially shows up a couple of days after this on September 22.) Of course, just because summer is over according to the calendar, our season is far from over! That's when our gorgeous lake view is surrounded by all the vibrant colors of fall, adding even more beauty to the great time you'll be having here with us!
