June at the Dog - 3 Awesome Annual Events & Great Live Music

Dog Days Bar & Grill is home to many of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks, and we've got three incredible ones coming up this June! Get out your calendars and make plans now to spend these exciting nights and weekends right here with us.  

The Annual White Party
Tuesday, June 13
This is a party that the locals look forward to every year, and if you're in the lake area this particular Tuesday evening, come on out and join us! The only thing we ask of everyone is that they show up dressed in their finest, whitest clothing, and that they come ready to have an amazing time!

The White Party originated at our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, and it was held there for 10 years. The event grew in popularity to the point that it was moved to Dog Days for the additional space. This will be our 3rd year playing host, and we're thrilled to do so! There will be live music, awesome specials, and fun happening all night long.   

Canine Cannonball
June 16-18
This event is fun for the entire family, including the four-legged members. It happens to fall on Father's Day Weekend, and since dog is "man's best friend," it's the perfect place to bring Dad to celebrate.

Every year DockDogs hosts competitions all around the country to find the best canine jumpers. A big jumping pool is set up lakeside, and dogs compete in four different categories: Big Air, Speed Retrieve, Extreme Vertical, and Iron Dog. The competition is open to both amateurs and seasoned pros, so if you think your dog has what it takes, head on over to DockDogs.com and get registered. If you won't be competing, plan to come on by and watch the show.

Support Our Troops Poker Run
Friday, June 23
Poker Runs are always fun, and around here, they're extra exciting when they take place on the lake by boat. The best part is that many of them are held as fundraisers for some spectacular causes. 

All of the proceeds from this one benefit H.E.R.O.E.S Care, an organization that is dedicated to working with others to provide support to military families in the communities where they live. They also donate a portion of their proceeds to the Global Orphan Project, which is headquartered in Kansas City, MO and mobilizes local churches in some of the poorest areas on earth to care for the neediest orphans and vulnerable children in those communities.

Support Our Troops Poker Run 2015

Dog Days Bar and Grill is excited to be a part of this weekend's Support Our Troops Poker Run.  Our very own Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant is not only one of the stops, but we have been designated as the final stop for dropping off your cards, and we are hosting the amazing after-party.  

This year is the 8th Annual Support Our Troops Poker Run, and they are doing their best to make it the biggest one yet.  To date, $100,000 has been raised for H.E.R.O.E.S. Care, a wonderful organization that is dedicated to working with others to provide support to military families in the communities where they live.  They also donate a portion of their proceeds to the Global Orphan Project, which is headquartered in Kansas City, MO and mobilizes local churches in some of the poorest areas on earth to care for the neediest orphaned and vulnerable children in those communities.

Celebrate Fall Harbor Hop at Dog Days!

If you think the Lake of the Ozarks is only fun in the summer, then you've got another 'think' coming! Dog Days Bar & Grill wants to announce the return of the Annual Fall Harbor Hop... and it's going to be bigger and better than ever! Join us for this top-notch event on Saturday, October 11th.

Participating in the Harbor Hop is as Easy as 1, 2, 3!

ONE:  Pick up your starting card at Dog Days Bar & Grill or any of the other participating locations (a $20 entry donation is optional). 

TWO:  Build your seven-card poker hand by visiting the different participating checkpoints. Pick up one card at each location until you have a complete hand. If you want, you can also purchase an optional eighth card for $5. Individual players may also build more than one poker hand.

THREE:  Turn in your finished hand at whatever checkpoint gives you your final card, and stay tuned to see if you're a lucky winner!

Prizes Galore!

Harbor Hop certainly isn't stingy with its prize money. The pot will be created from the entry donations the players provided, and the lucky holders of the winning hands will get to take home a percentage of the pot!

Shootout This Weekend!

No doubt about it; the Shootout is one of the Lake's biggest annual events. People come from all over the Midwest to participate in activities that span more than a week. The Shootout's main attraction is the high speed boat race, but there are plenty of other fun activities going on as well! 

Dog Days wants to be the first to tell you about the PWC Dam Poker Run, which will culminate in an awesome after party held at our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge! Not only will this event be a great excuse to get out on the water, but you'll have a chance to win cash and prizes as well!

What?

Grab your waverunner and head out for a great day on the water. Participants will travel to Truman Dam and back, covering a total of 130 miles and visiting several lakefront restaurants to collect stamps for their poker hands. Plus, don't forget about all the pit stops along the way - riders will also get to try their hands at cliff jumping and rope swinging on the Lake! 

At the end of the day, riders will gather at one of the Lake's best waterfront restaurant and bars: Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina! You definitely won't want to miss out on this rockin' after party, complete with everything from delicious drinks to a great crowd. Dam Poker Girls will compare poker hands at the after party and award prizes to the lucky winners.

When?

This exciting event will take place on Thursday, August 22nd. The ride will kick off at 9:00 AM. There's still time to register online here!

How?

The entry fee is $150 per PWC and includes:

• Entry to the Dam Fun Run
• Entry to the Poker Run
• Food at the finish
• FREE t-shirt, and
• FREE entry to the Shootout PWC Run on Saturday!

Extra passengers are $10 apiece, and additional poker hands can be purchased for $25 each.

All the money raised will benefit local charities!

Aquapalooza Is Only One Month Away!!

What was your favorite event at the Lake of the Ozarks last year?

That's right! The one and only AquaPalooza at Dog Days Bar & Grill!!

On Saturday, July 19th, your favorite Lakefront restaurant will host one of the Lake's best annual events. The festivities will take place from 12:00-5:00pm, so come out early and make a day of it!

 AquaPalooza draws people from all over the state. The live music always contributes to the day's atmosphere, and this year shouldn't be any different! Dog Days has an awesome lineup scheduled, featuring all your favorite music from the 80s!
