The End is Near... But Just for This Year!

As much as we hate to admit it each year, it's time to shut down your favorite Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant & bar for the season. It's just for a few months, though, because you know that Dog Days Bar & Grill will be back next spring with all the awesomeness we gave you this year, plus a whole lot more! 

Closing Day 2018
Saturday, October 27 will be your final chance this season to get a taste of your favorite Dog Days Bar & Grill food and drinks. If the weather allows, you can sit on the deck admiring that breathtaking lake view, then head on indoors if when you start to get chilly. 

In addition to enjoying a great meal and a few farewell cocktails, it's a great time to pick up your Dog Days gear to give away as fantastic Christmas presents this year, and don't forget to pick up a sweatshirt or two for yourself! It's a bit cold for a dip in our heated pool, but hey, if the mood strikes you, jump on in one last time. We'll have a Hot Toddy waiting for you at the inside bar when you get out! 

Visit Our Sister Restaurants
Even though our menu items will be hibernating for the winter, both of our outstanding sister restaurants will still be open for business and serving mouthwatering creations just like you're used to at the Dog. Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina also offers awesome waterfront dining with an indoor dining area and even a cozy fireplace under a covered deck. They specialize in creative Cajun dishes that will make your mouth think you're actually in New Orleans! You can enjoy them 7 days a week through the end of November. 

Wobbly Boots Roadhouse offers the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks, and this incredible restaurant & bar is open year-round. In addition to award-winning, hickory-smoked BBQ dishes, they also offer specialty sandwiches & wraps, homestyle side dishes, enormous salads, Southern comfort foods, juicy steaks, and a whole lot more. You can also catch all your favorite sports on their 21 TVs and giant projection screen.   

Rent the Dog Days House
Our restaurant & bar may be closed for a few months, but you can stay next door in our Lake of the Ozarks luxury vacation house rental any day of the year. It's easy to check availability and make a reservation online. The view from the house's picture windows changes dramatically with the seasons, but it's always a gorgeous sight to behold! 

The house has space for up to 17 guests with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. You'll have all the comforts of home, plus quite a few wonderful extras that you probably don't get to regularly enjoy. There will be lots of terrific events to attend around the lake area before and during the holidays, plus tons of great shopping. Also, the Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl is set for February 16, 2019, and as of the moment, that date is open at our house! (Call up 16 of your friends & reserve it fast!)   
  

Not Goodbye, Just "See You Later!"
We had another successful and exciting season at our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, and we hope it was just as incredible for you here with us too. It's always tough for us to end a season, but rest assured, after a short break to relax and rejuvenate ourselves, planning for next year will begin! 

You can expect new amazing menu items, more incredible events and live music, incredible pool parties, and a whole lot more! Thank you for helping us to have an incredible 2018 season at Dog Days Bar & Grill. Don't miss your chance to kick it one more time before the party is over until next spring. 5 Reasons You're Going to Love Dog Days This Fall

Fall at the Lake of the Ozarks is a breathtaking time of year to take in all of the scenic beauty as it changes colors. Our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is still open this season, and we're located smack dab in the middle of all that gorgeous autumn scenery. That's just the first of many reasons you really need to head on over to Dog Days Bar & Grill before we eventually bring our season to an end. (It's not too late yet!)  

That Amazing View
Like we said, the ever-changing scenic beauty found all around the Lake of the Ozarks in the fall is something everyone should witness. If you thought the panoramic view from our lakeside decks was fantastic throughout the summer, you're going to love its new look with colorful fall foliage along the shores. 

The Woof Top Patio we added this past season offers an eagle-eye view of all that beauty. Also, with fewer boats cruising by than during mid-summer, the water seems to be an even bolder blue.  

Those Delicious Dishes
Our kitchen is still dishing up the best food at the Lake of the Ozarks. All of your favorite menu items from this season are still being served for lunch and dinner 7 days a week beginning at 11 am. You're definitely going to want to eat here as many times as you can before it gets cold enough for us to hang up our hats for the year. Give those taste buds something delicious to remember this winter and look forward to having again next spring. 

It's Not Too Cold for a Pain in the A**
Even if the temperature is actually a little too chilly to enjoy a frozen cocktail outside, we've got that great big comfortable and cozy indoor dining area for you to take advantage of. You're not going to find a Pain in the A** as good as ours this winter (unless you travel someplace tropical) so you'd better enjoy them while you still can. Plus, if you do get a bit cold, we've got some awesome Dog Days sweatshirts in the gift shop you can slip into.  

You Can Stay With Us
For everyone living in the lake area, it's no problem to head on over to the Dog for lunch or dinner. If you're coming from out of town, you may need a place to stay while you're here. Stay with us! Well, in our Lake of the Ozarks vacation house rental located next door to Dog Days, that is.

You can check availability and make a reservation online year-round. This luxury lake view house has 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and all the comforts of home. The perfect place to stay with the entire family or a great big bunch of friends. Best of all, you're right next door to all the action at Dog Days Bar & Grill!

We're going to miss you too, so the more we get to see of you before the end of the season, the better! The Fall Harbor Hop is Coming To Dog Days & So Should You!

The 33rd Annual Fall Harbor Hop is THIS WEEKEND, Saturday, October 13, 2018. Just because boating season is winding down, that doesn't mean that the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks stop. As a matter of fact, fall in the lake area is an awesome time to visit Dog Days Bar & Grill, and the Fall Harbor Hop is an event you do not want to miss!  

2 Card Stops at the Dog
The Lake of the Ozarks Harbor Hop is a fun poker run on the water where you spend a day cruising from stop to stop picking up enough playing cards to complete a hand. (Hopefully a winning hand!) 

You get to draw not just one, but two of those cards right here at Dog Days Bar & Grill. Everyone always has such a great time here at the Dog, we know you'll want to stay awhile, so we're going to save you some time and give you 2 cards when you come to hang out with us.  

How to Hop
There are over 40 waterfront bars & restaurants on the list, and you may begin your Harbor Hop at any one of them. (You can see a full list at www.Funlake.com/HarborHop.) A $20 donation at any participating stop gets card #1 for you, and you're more than welcome to play more than one hand. From there, you will cruise to 6 more stops on the list, grabbing your 7th and final card at that last stop and turning in your hand there.   

Of course, sometimes luck isn't on your side, but not to worry. If you aren't completely happy with the hand you've been dealt, you can purchase an 8th card for an additional $5. The entry fees collected throughout the day are what determine the amount of the prizes available. As long as you turn your hand in before 7 pm on October 13, your share of the winnings could be:

1st Place: 10%
2nd Place: 9%
3rd Place: 8%
4th Place: 7%
5th-10th Places: 5%
4 Worst Hands: 4% each
Random Drawing for 10 Hands: 2% each

The Bonus: Section winners will be recognized from players that draw all 7 of their cards within a single section of checkpoints as labeled on the stop list.

Don't Forget Your Suit
Our awesome heated pool isn't closed for the season yet. You might as well bring your swimsuit or have it on under your other clothes. (You're going to be on a boat all day, so that's perfectly acceptable!) Come prepared so if the feeling strikes, you can hop into that warm water before it's shut down for the season.

Of course, if you don't feel the urge to take a dip, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy yourself at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant & bar. The lake view is fantastic from our outdoor decks, the Dog Pound tiki bar, and our latest addition, the Woof Top Patio. For those of you that want to get inside for a bit before heading back out on the water, you can always hang with us at the indoor dining room or bar. 

Stay at the Dog
At the time we are typing this, there is still an opening for Harbor Hop weekend in our amazing Lake of the Ozarks luxury vacation rental house that just happens to sit right next door to Dog Days Bar & Grill. You and up to 17 of your closest friends or family members can book our vacation rental house online and be within walking distance of all the fun!

You get the same breathtaking view that you've seen from the Dog, and there are multiple large windows to see it from plus outdoor decks on both levels. There are 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and all the comforts of home to enjoy during your stay. There's even a covered boat slip available on the property to park your boat while you're not Harbor Hopping!

Celebrate National Taco Day at Dog Days Overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks

Thursday, October 4 is National Taco Day. Many of you will probably head to your nearest Mexican restaurant to celebrate, but those that do will be missing out on the creatively delicious tacos we serve daily at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant & bar! 

These aren't just your ordinary tacos at Dog Days Bar & Grill either. We offer gourmet versions that will blow your mind and thrill your taste buds. If you're in the mood to upgrade with the addition of margaritas and nachos, we can take care of that too! 

Dog Days' Gourmet Tacos
We've got ground beef tacos similar to what you're probably used to here at the Dog (although much tastier!) but our creativity didn't stop at the norm. On the contrary, we've got 5 incredible taco types for you to choose from, and each meal is served alongside our popular curly fries. If you need salsa or sour cream, be sure to let your server know when you order. 

Spicy Beef Tacos
Our ground beef tacos are made with fresh, quality ingredients making them tastier than any taco you've had 'til now! In addition to savory ground beef, they also come with shredded lettuce, cheddar jack cheese, pico, and roasted tomato and jalapeno ranch. 

Jerk Chicken Tacos
Some people prefer chicken tacos to beef, and once they've tasted our version, regular ol' chicken will never be enough again! Our jerk chicken is smoked with island spices and served with cabbage, sweet corn, and sweet & spicy jerk sauce. 

Steak Tacos
We blacken tender tips with our savory Southern spices, then take that succulent meat and serve it along with cheddar jack cheese, pico, roasted tomato & jalapeno cream, and cabbage in two flour tortillas. 

Asian Shrimp Tacos
Foodies love seafood tacos, and we've got two versions sure to please the pickiest of seafood fans. It all starts with sauteed teriyaki shrimp. Added to that are crisp cabbage, pico, and shredded pepper jack cheese. 

Blackened Mahi Tacos
Next, we take Mahi filets and sear them in our Southern spices. Once ready, they are served with crisp cabbage and pico in two flour tortillas drizzled in roasted tomato & jalapeno cream. 

We've Got Nachos Too!
Hardly anyone can say "no" to tacos, and most of those same people can't resist a great big plate of nachos too. Once again, we took a classic dish and made it unique and irresistible in our own special Dog Days' way! 

All of our nacho creations begin with a bed of crispy corn tortilla chips, plus chile con queso, salsa, and sour cream. From there, you can choose one of the following styles for a nacho experience like no other! 

Spicy Beef or Chicken Nachos
Choose either our fantastic seasoned ground beef or chicken to be joined by pico, jalapenos, cheddar jack cheese, shredded lettuce, and roasted tomato jalapeno cream sauce. 

BBQ Pork Nachos
For this terrific treat, we take a generous helping of slow-smoked pulled pork and add jalapenos, pickles, and a lick-your-lips Bourbon BBQ sauce. 

Seafood Nachos
This one has an amazing combination of flavorful seafood that will make your taste buds very happy! Crab, shrimp, and scallops are all served with a Cajun sauce, diced tomato, peppadews, and jalapenos. 

Tuna Poke Nachos
This base for this delicacy is a bit different than the rest of our nachos. Instead of tortilla chips, we start with fried wontons. On top of that are placed chilled yellowfin tuna that has been tossed with a sweetened soy ginger sauce plus diced mango, wakame, pickled ginger, wasabi cream, and sesame seeds. WOW!
