Big Weekend May 6 & 7: Spring Harbor Hop AND The Homegrown Music Festival!

Two of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks are coming soon, and they're taking place on the same weekend! Both the 20th Annual Spring Harbor Hop AND the 2nd Annual Homegrown Festival are coming to Dog Days Bar & Grill this May 6 & 7, 2017. If you celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us on Friday too, we'll be having a whole lot of fun together every moment of the entire weekend! 

20th Annual Spring Harbor Hop
Saturday, May 6
This incredible event is the perfect time to get your boat out on the water for the season if you haven't already. Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant will open up at 11:00 am on Harbor Hop day, as will our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. There are 2 of your 7 stops already planned out! 

If you've attended a spring or fall Harbor Hop in the past, you already know how exciting this day on the water can be. If you're new to the Harbor Hop, here are the basics.

Over 40 waterfront bars and restaurants set up checkpoints where you can collect 1 of the 7 cards needed to complete a poker hand. You may begin at any of the checkpoints. A $20 optional donation gets you access to one hand, but you are welcome to play more if you like. You will turn in a completed hand at your 7th and final stop, where you have the option to purchase a bonus card for $5 if your hand needs a little help. Prizes are granted to the top 10 hands, the 4 worst hands, 10 random hands, and 4 section winners. Here at Dog Days Bar & Grill, we'll have plenty of live entertainment to keep you dancing all night long once you're done hopping, plus plenty of incredible live music happening during the Harbor Hop too. Stevie Newman will perform from 1-5 pm, Chuck B & the Bad News Band will hit the stage from 5-9 pm, and the Atomic Sunburns will play from 10 pm - 1 am. You'll want to go home and get plenty of sleep after that, because we're partying again on Sunday, all day long! 


2nd Annual Homegrown Festival

Last year was a huge success, so we're doing it again this year! Missouri is home to many talented musicians and lots of incredible breweries, distilleries, and wineries, and the Homegrown Festival brings you some of the best of those.  

The best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks happens at Dog Days all season long, but on this special day, we'll pack the entire afternoon with some unbelievable local talent. Make plans now to be here for:

Burgers of the World - Unite!

Last week we featured the cool & refreshing Sunny Spring Drink Specials menu available at Dog Days Bar & Grill this month. We felt like those creative cocktails needed something special to go along with them, so your favorite waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks created a Sunny Spring Food Specials menu for you too!

Sunny Spring Burger Specials
Burgers are the star of this particular, limited-time menu. Not just your average burgers, though. The inspiration for the terrific toppings and fantastic flavors found here come from all around the world. 

The Hombre
A char-grilled half-pound burger topped with pico, grilled poblano pepper, melted cheddar jack cheese, guacamole, and Baja sauce.

The Hula Girl
A half-pound burger char-grilled and topped with cheddar cheese spread, pulled pork, grilled pineapple, and teriyaki sauce.

The Jamaican
A house-grilled sausage patty topped with pepper jack cheese, grilled peppadews, onions, and smoked shoulder bacon drizzled in jerk sauce on a butter bun.

The Surfer Dude
A char-grilled half-pound burger topped with pimento cheese, shrimp, sauteed mushrooms, and garlic mayo.

The Mobster
Our house sausage patty topped with salami, peppadews, provolone cheese, spinach, black olives, and garlic basil mayo. 


Chef's Signature Burgers
The 5 amazing burgers above are only available for a limited time on our special Sunny Spring Specials menu. Once they're gone for the season, Dog Days Bar & Grill can still give you a gourmet burger fix with the unbelievable creations in the Chef's Signature Burgers section of our everyday menu. 

The Old Fashioned
Two beef patties cooked on the griddle and topped with caramelized onions and American cheese on a brioche bun.

All American
A half-pound burger topped with American cheese on a toasted brioche bun, served with crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, sweet onion, and pickles. 

San Francisco Melt
Our Angus beef patty served on thick-sliced grilled sourdough with cheddar jack cheese, smoked bacon, green leaf lettuce, and fresh sliced tomato and onion with 1,000 island dressing. 

Bayou Burger
We take our sausage patty, blacken it in a cast iron skillet, and top it with pepper jack cheese, fried onions, and peppadews, then serve it on a Cajun dusted brioche bun.

Baja Burger
Our beef patty grilled and topped with pepper jack cheese, fresh sliced avocado, pickled jalapenos, and our Baja sauce on a brioche bun. 

Bacon Bleu Burger
Our beef patty grilled and topped with crisp bacon, crumbled bleu cheese, and bacon jam served on a cracked black pepper and sea salt brioche bun.

Pimento Burger
Our Angus beef patty cooked on the griddle and topped with peppadews and pimento cheese on a brioche bun. 

The Cuban
Our house sausage patty topped with provolone cheese, peppadews, brown mustard, and spicy pickles on a brioche bun.

The Ozark
Our beef patty topped with bourbon BBQ, shoulder pepper bacon, and sharp cheddar cheese spread on a brioche bun.

All of our Chef's Signature Burgers are served with curly fries, or you can substitute one of our signature side dishes for a small additional charge. You can also add the following toppings for even more flavor: Cheese (American, Provolone, Swiss, Cheddar, Pepper Jack, & Bleu Cheese Crumbles,) Sauteed Onions, Sauteed Mushrooms, Jalapenos, and Bacon.

Cool & Refreshing - Our Sunny Spring Drink Specials

Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar makes the best cocktails in town! There's nothing better than enjoying a relaxing spring day on the deck at Dog Days Bar & Grill (and soon, by the pool!) sipping a cool and refreshing drink, visiting with friends, and enjoying that breathtaking lake view. 

You can expect all of your old favorites from the bar (Run Runners, Pain in the A**, Margaritas, etc...) and this spring, we've come up with a few special edition drinks, made to match this marvelous season. Fresh fruit flavors, ice cream, quality liqueurs, and more combine to create flavors that your taste buds will thank you for! If you're watching your calories, we've even come up with some light cocktails to go along with our healthy new menu options.

Strawberry and pomegranate, pineapple and coconut, banana and cinnamon, and whipped cream and orange are just a few of the flavor combinations that we have in store for you. Some are come on the rocks, while others are served frozen and mixed with ice cream. There's even a New Orleans classic cocktail making an appearance on the menu. 

SUNNY SPRING DRINK SPECIALS

Straw-Pomegrino
Strawberry rum and Italian sparkling soda made with pomegranate combined with a delicate taste of orange to create a fresh tartness and a finish leaning toward sweetness. 

Nada Colada
Cruzan Pineapple and Coconut Rums mixed with Sprite Zero. It's not your classic Pina Colada, but it tastes like one! 

Skinny Melon Marg
Hornitos Plata Tequila is mixed with zero-calorie margarita mix and Sprite Zero, then topped with melon liqueur. 

Grass Hopper
Created in New Orleans 99 years ago, this classic frozen drink combines Green Creme de Menthe and Creme de Cacao with ice cream to make your minty chocolate dreams come true. 

Bananas Firesters
Cinnamon whisky, banana liqueur, and a touch of butterscotch Schnapps blended with ice cream and banana puree. It's our alcoholic take on a New Orleans classic. 

Sour Apple Blow Pop
Apple Pucker and citrus rum mixed with Mellow Yellow combine to create a tart and sweet treat!

Bomb of the Month: Orange Whip
Pinnacle Whipped Vodka topped with Red Bull's new Orange Edition.

It's April... Time For The 2017 LOMDA In-Water Boat Show At Dog Days!

We pride ourselves as hosts to some of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks, and the first big one for this year is right around the corner. It's time to get boating season kicked off with the 2017 LOMDA April In-Water Boat Show right here in the docks at Dog Days Bar & Grill. 


The Dates:
-Friday, April 21
1 pm -7 pm

-Saturday, April 22
10 am - 7 pm

-Sunday, April 23
10 am - 4 pm

Admission:
Ages 12 & under = Free
Ages 13 & older = $6


MORE: Dealers, Boats, Brands, Vendors, & FUN!
This much anticipated event is sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association (LOMDA) The group represents over 50 local marine dealers that come together to bring the newest boats and boating accessories available to you. You get a chance to see and experience them up close and personal. Whether you're simply here to browse or looking to buy, this is definitely the place to be.

There will be vendor booths set up on land and boats and other watercraft in the lake. Get ready to experience the finest yachts, cruisers, fishing boats, ski boats, and pontoons. There will also be some used trade-ins and brokerage boats on hand. As for the additional vendors, they'll be showing off boat lifts, custom-made docks, boat trailers, boat covers, boat motors, and marine electronics, and more.

Good News For You & Kids Harbor
You get the chance to see all of the wonderful water toys coming out this year, and your attendance raises money for an incredible local organization. $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to Kids Harbor. 

This is a child advocacy center serving the Lake of the Ozarks area in central Missouri, which includes 10 counties: Camden, Dent, Hickory, Laclede, Maries, Miller, Morgan, Phelps, Pulaski, and Texas. They assist victims of child abuse, ages 0-18, and their non-offending family members free of charge as they make their way through the difficult and often frightening process of a child abuse investigation.  

Catch A Shuttle
Don't let the renovation at Dog Days Bar & Grill that's underway worry you. There will still be plenty of parking available. Keep your eyes peeled for signs offering shuttles to the event. You can use the designated parking lots to catch a shuttle by land, and there will also be a water shuttle taking visitors between Dog Days and Topsider Bar & Grill. We'll make sure you get to the docks, you just need to make sure that you save the dates and stop by sometime during the event weekend.

Take Your Time & Enjoy
The very best thing about the LOMDA April In-Water Boat Show, in addition to the awesome boats, is the fact that it takes place in the docks of the best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. We'll have our brand new menu available all day long. It's filled with your old favorites, as well as quite a few brand new items you're going to love. You can check out the boat show, stop for a bite to eat, head back down to the boat show, then head back up for a cocktail afterwards, and maybe even dinner.
