What's Happening at The Lake over Thanksgiving

Pack up the car, load up the kids and head to the Lake this Thanksgiving! There are a ton of things to do for everyone in the family.  Here is a hit list of things going on so you can prioritize...

• Need Retail Therapy?  One of the largest outlet malls in the state, Osage Premium Outlet, will have bargains galore - some stores opening up Thanksgiving afternoon.  Many of the specialty shops & boutiques around the area will also be having Black Friday deals that run through the weekend.
• West Side Light Parks are always a treat!  The Enchanted Village of Lights will light up the Laurie Faigrounds with the free drive through light park.  What a perfect way to get the Christmas spirit started!  Not far down the road you can also visit St. Patrick's Shrine Festival of Lights.
• Christmas Show at Main Show Street Music Hall is in full swing and begins at 7pm Friday and Saturday evening.
• Deck the Docks cruise is a great way to spend the evening as well. Board the Celebration Cruiser and take in beautiful displays from the water. This event benefits Dogwood Animal Shelter.

In between all the shopping and having fun -recharge your battery at the all new Wobbly Boots Roadhouse!  Enjoy your same award winning favorites in the new smoke free establishment.  It's not hard to find either because it is right next to the previous location on Osage Beach Parkway. The 2013 In Water Boat Show at Dog Days Bar & Grill!!

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association is having the 2013 In Water Boat Show at Dog Days Bar & Grill!! 

The Marine Dealers Association has over 50 Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers the represent many different types of boats, accessories, dock equipment and anything else that promotes Lake Lifestyle!!  This will be the perfect opportunity to check out the newest boat models and visit with representatives in person to answer all your questions. 

This year, the event will be April 19th-21st and will have more dealers, more boats, more brands and more vendors.  It's a great day to get out with family or friends for some fun times at Dog Days Bar & Grill.

The Top Appetizers at Dog Days Bar & Grill

Dog Days has a full menu of satisfying items with a wide array of appetizers! With so many great items, we weren't sure which ones to feature.  So we asked our Staff and here are their choices for the Top Appetizers at Dog Days Bar & Grill!! 

Prime Rib Sliders - 3 Sliders stuffed with house-smoked prime rib, balsamic red onions and blue cheese crumbles

Crab Legs - Steamed sweet and succulent snow crab legs served with drawn butter 1lb * 2lb

Seafood Nachos - Tri-colored tortilla chips topped with shrimp, bay scallops and real crab meat, then smothered in a white pepper queso and finished with tomatoes and jalepenos.

Coconut Shrimp  - Sweet coconut and crunchy frosted flakes combine to send these huge gulf shrimp over the top. Served with a raspberry habanero sauce.

And of course, we are always serving up ice cold Budweiser products to wet your whistle and get you ready for some great appetizers and a mouth watering meal!!

Dog Days features a variety of live music including National and Regional rock, blues, and country bands on both our inside and outside stages. The Annual Disco Party at Dog Days Bar & Grill

This weekend we are having the Annual Dog Days Disco Party and you won't wanna miss it!!  Everyone is always excited to get their groove on and show up for the final party of the season - but the question lingering in everyone's mind... "What am I going to Wear"??  

The Disco Era had some amazing music, but it also had a wide array of amazing fashions for you to choose from!!  Here are a couple of ideas to get your imagination juices flowing!!

Go to your local Thrift Stores - this is by far the best place to start when putting together your retro ensemble.  There are plenty of dated clothes to choose from and more than likely you will find them at a great deal!!   Look for polyester shirts, shiny pants, thick chains, halter tops, mini skirts and bell bottoms are some perfect things to look for.

Have fun with your hair - Show off your own hair in a whole new style or choose a wig!!  Men should consider growing a thin mustache or purchasing a "stick on" mustache for the evening or maybe even finding that perfect Afro wig.  Ladies, Afro wigs are also a great choice along with teased hair, super straight hair or maybe try a Farrah Fawcett style.

Dress in Costume - There are some great classic characters from the 70's disco era to pattern your style after.  Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, the Partridge Family, the Brady Bunch, or how bout the gang from Scooby Doo?  Think about (or Google) the television shows or movies during the 70's and use their style as a party outfit inspiration.

Have Fun  - This is one of the best Parties at the Lake of the Ozarks and a celebration of a great season coming to an end.  It's your time to let your Saturday night Fever Burn.  Hey, if you love a great party but you don't have the 70's attire, come on out to Dog Days and help us close out a great season with a Far Out Party that will Blow Your Mind!!!

2012 Fall Harbor Hop at Lake of the Ozarks

This weekend is the 26th Annual Fall Harbor Hop at Lake of the Ozarks!

Once again Dog Days Bar & Grill will be participating in the Annual Fall Harbor Hop and we are excited to see boating enthusiasts come out for some Lake of the Ozark Hopping!  The event is sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Marine Dealers Association and waterfront restaurants around the Lake area.

The Harbor Hop is a boating event in which participants will hop from various restaurants and marinas to draw playing cards in order to build a winning had that is eligible for prizes.  Boaters that want to participate can donate $15 per seven-card hand.  You can start your hop anywhere and begin drawing your first card at any of the 30+ sponsoring restaurants and marinas.  For a complete list go to http://funlake.com/harborhop/

Prize Allocations are as follows:

1st Place - 10%
2nd Place - 9%
3rd Place - 8%
4th Place - 7% each
5th-10th Place - 5 % each
4 Worst Hands - 4% each

(all ties will share the allocated percentage for the placing)

The Bonus - In addition to the regular prize winners, a section winner will be recognized.  To be eleigible to be a section winner, a player must draw all seven cards within one of the four sections listed on http://funlake.com/harborhop/.

2012 Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

The  Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout will be held at Captain Ron's  Bar & Grill August 18-26th.  The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest and draws over 100 racers and 100,000 spectators and will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams and other local charities. 

Powerboat Magazine Readers have voted this race the #1 boat race/shootout in the country and has also been listed as one of the 8 "must see" boating events.  Official speeds at Captain Ron's have been clocked at 208 mph, many claiming even faster speeds.  This year new radar guns may prove these claims to be true.  In 2011, Bill Tomlinson hit speeds of 208 on three different runs, Skater boats were flying at 191 mph and even the pontoons were racing at speeds of 107 mph. This will be a great year to check out the races and hopefully see some record-breaking speeds from the racers.

The 4th Annual Duck Drop at Lake of the Ozarks

The Ozark Coast Kiwanis is having their 4th Annual Bagnell Dam Duck Drop this Saturday, August 4th!!!   This is an awesome event that will give you a chance to win $5000 CASH and help support local children in need.

The day will be filled with family fun activities that offer something for the entire family to enjoy.  The day will begin with a 5K Run/Waddle Walk at 8:00am that starts at the Dam Bait Shop - whether you are a seasoned runner or just want to get out of the house for a nice stroll, the Run for the Dam is a great event to participate in and all proceeds will benefit local needy children.

The Family Fun Zone will offer all kinds of great activities and  will be open from 10:00am-3:00pm.  Games, entertainment, face painting, food and much more will be happening throughout the day.  Bring your kids and enjoy a family friendly atmosphere.

The Duck Drop will begin at noon, as Lake Ozark Helicopters pours down thousands of rubber ducks to float down the river and begin the much anticipated race!!  Twelve prizes will be awarded with the winning duck ticket holder receiving $5,000 cash!  There will also be other prizes ranging from $1,000 cash, a $500 shopping card to Hy Vee, five $100 shopping cards to Paul’s Supermarket and many more. At 2pm the official winner will be announced and you need not be present to win.  

All the money raised from the event benefits the Kiwanis Club of the Ozark Coast which focuses on helping LOCAL children in need throughout the Lake Area.

What's Cookin' at Dog Days Bar & Grill

Dog Days Bar & Grill is Lake of the Ozark's #1 Waterfront Restaurant with a menu offering some great items that won't leave you hungry!!

The new menu at Dog Days features gourmet burgers, fresh salads and some tasty new appetizers.  Don't worry, we still have many of your favorites on the menu like our mouth watering steaks, seafood and pasta.

STARTERS   Start your meal off right with coconut shrimp, prime rib sliders, blue crab & shrimp cakes, jerk wings and crab legs.  These are just a few of the favorites you will find on our menu!  

BURGERS - We take our burgers to a whole new level and offer so many options, you're sure to find a burger that will satisfy your taste buds. We have delicious juicy burgers made of Certified Angus Beef, Ground Prime Rib, Farm Raised Bison and Ground Turkey.   Want to try something different, how about our Cheddar En Fuego - a prime rib burger with cheddar cheese, candied jalapenos, bacon and a sweet raspberry sauce served on a warm pretzel bun.  Surf & Turf burger, a Baja Burger, a California Turkey Burger or just a good ole fashion Cheeseburger are a few of the options for you to choose from.

SALADS AND SANDWICHES - if you are looking for something a little lighter, we have salads, wraps and sandwiches.   We have classic options like the Cobb Salad, Caesar Salad and Garden Salad as well as our Asian Tuna Salad and BBQ Pork Salad.
