Spring Harbor Hop -- Come See Us!!

Who's ready for some much-needed boating, sunshine, awesome food, outstanding drinks, and fun card games?

If you're craving any one (or all!) of these things, your friends at Dog Days Bar & Grill has the cure you've been looking for... Spring Harbor Hop 2015!

How Does Harbor Hop Work?

Playing the game is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1 - Come to our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 to submit your donation of $20.00 and pick up your first playing card.

2 - Visit other participating locations (like our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge!) to pick up additional playing cards until you have built a complete poker hand.

3 - Submit your completed poker hand at your final location by 7:00 PM for a chance to win one of several great prizes!

What Can I Win?

Winners will receive percentages of the total entry donations in the form of gift certificates. It doesn't even matter if you're terrible at poker - prizes will be given for the best AND the worst hands! Here's a quick glance at the chances you have to win:
  • 1st Place - 10%
  • 2nd Place - 9%
  • 3rd Place - 8%
  • 4th Place - 7%
  • 5th-10th Place - 5% each
  • 4 Worst Hands - 4% each
  • Random Drawing for 10 Hands - 2% each
Ties will share the prize money they were allocated. Don't forget that there will also be a section winner for people who draw all seven cards in the same section... Dog Days is located in Section III (along with our sister restaurant Shorty Pants Lounge) so come by and see us!

SPICY Spring SAMBAL Menu at Dog Days!

It's time to spice things up a little bit!

When you're looking for an extra exciting night, come on out to your favorite waterfront restaurant and bar at the Lake of the Ozarks to enjoy our spicy, exotic Sambal Menu - available only for a limited time at Dog Days Bar & Grill!

What is "Sambal"?

In its simplest form, Sambal is a spicy Southeast Asian condiment made from chile peppers and salt. A more elaborate Sambal may contain onion, lime juice, lemongrass, sugar, garlic, oil, and/or vinegar. You can find Sambal in a jar or bottle at an Asian food market - or in the international aisle at the grocery store.

There are many different varieties of Sambal. Sambal Oelek is the kind you're most likely to find in the United States. We have been experimenting with this sauce this spring, and we're now very excited to offer these all-new food and beverage options at the best restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks for those who like it a little spicy.

Spicy Spring Sambal FOOD

El Cerdo Volcan
Our house sausage blend patty seared to keep the juices in, topped with grilled onions, piquante peppers, ghost pepper cheese. Drizzled with Sambal sauce on a kaiser bun. Served with your choice of side.

Smoked Thai Sambal Wings
Our house smoked jumbo wings flame grilled and tossed in Sambal sauce. Served with bleu cheese or buttermilk ranch dressing.

Sambal Bacon Balls
Our house specialty bacon wrapped meatballs tossed in a spicy Sambal red sauce with melted provolone cheese. Served with garlic bread.

Sambal Shrimp
Half a pound of jumbo shrimp sauteed with onions, red peppers, garlic, ginger, Sambal, and beer. Served with roasted red pepper rice and garlic bread.

Spicy Spring Sambal DRINKS

Sambal Bloody Mary
ABSOLUT Peppar, Zing Zang, and a splash of Sambal. Garnished with a Piquante pepper and a horseradish pickle.

Sambal Smash
Cucumber Vodka, Red Bull Yellow Edition, and a dash of Sambal. Surprisingly refreshing - with a bit of a kick!

Sambal Lada
A Sambal Michelada with a serious kick. Lager Beer and Sambal with a salted rim and lime.

Sambal Oyster Shooter
Raw oyster with your choice of Vodka (we suggest ABSOLUT citron) and a splash of Zing Zang, all topped off with a touch of Sambal.

Hot Rita
Tijuana Sweet Heat Margarita with Sambal.

Mule Kicker
Hendricks Gin with Ginger Beer and Sambal, garnished with lime.

Trick #1: Plan On Not Doing ANY Cooking
Nothing ruins a lake vacation faster than having to come in off the water early so you can have time to put dinner together before the kids get grouchy! Your trip's focal point can be any number of things - it could be someone's birthday, an anniversary, or one of the great annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you're looking for local events to hit while you're in town this summer, check out the event schedule at Dog Days Bar & Grill. From Canine Cannonball to AquaPalooza, we're sure to have an event that will be exactly what you need to get your vacation started off right. Mark these dates in your calendar now!
