April 21-23: 2017 LOMDA In-Water Boat Show
The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association (LOMDA) will once again be bringing the best boats, PWC's, and all the accessories to go along with them for a fun day on the lake to the Dog Days Bar & Grill docks. If you want to stay up-to-date on what's new for the coming summer season, you won't want to miss this incredible show.
May 6: Spring Harbor Hop
Boating season is unofficially in full swing once the Spring Harbor Hop rolls around. This is an event that residents and visitors alike look forward to every year. Travel by boat to the many participating waterfront bars and restaurants all over the lake area collecting cards for your poker hand. Expect to spend a large portion of your day at Dog Days though, because we always have the best live music going all day long and well into the night.
May 7: Homegrown Festival
Missouri produces some of the best craft beers, wine, and live music, and our 2nd Annual Homegrown Festival will feature all of these! Spend the day enjoying talented entertainers from right here in the Show-Me-State while sampling some of the many delicious beverages made in the area. They all pair amazingly well with everything on the Dog Days menu. This is taking place the day after the Spring Harbor Hop, so plan for an entire weekend full of fun! Just a head's up, if it rains that weekend, we will reschedule this event for May 14.
June 16-18: Canine Cannonball
Yet another annual event that brings lots of excited visitors to our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant is the Canine Cannonball presented by Dock Dogs. Four-legged competitors spend the weekend vying to be the dog that can jump the highest, farthest, and fastest into the giant pool of water set up next to our docks. This free event is one that the entire family can enjoy.
June 23: Support Our Troops Poker Run
We love having poker runs on the water here at the lake, and this is another very popular one that takes place every year. Proceeds raised are used by H.E.R.O.E.S. Care to provide support to military families in the communities where they live, as well as the Global Orphan Project, which mobilizes local churches in some of the poorest communities on earth to care for needy children. Active military members are offered free seats on poker run boats. Lots of fun for a couple of great causes.
July 15: AquaPalooza
Quite possibly our most popular annual event every summer is the single largest 1-day boating event in the area - AquaPalooza! We set up a great big lakeside stage and offer 5 hours of amazing live music that can be enjoyed from either the land or chilling in the lake. There is a waiting list every year for dock slips for this exciting event, and people start reserving their spots before the concert is even over! We'll offer more updates about bands and other details before the big day, but mark that date on your calendar right now!
TBA: Dueling Dogs
We debuted another brand new event last year due to the popularity of the Canine Cannonball, and everyone loved Dueling Dogs every bit as much as its predecessor. Two dogs race against each other instead of going one at a time in this side-by-side, 2-lane, head-to-head race. Start training now, and get your dog signed up for this cool competition next summer.
August 25: Shootout Race Pre-party
The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is a lake area classic. The timed boat races don't take place in our cove, but the awesome pre-party before everything gets started does! Join us while you are down for the weekend before the races for our celebration, and come back daily after the last boat finishes for more food, drinks, live music, and fun.
October 14: Fall Harbor Hop
The Fall Harbor Hop is the unofficial end to the boating season at the Lake of the Ozarks, even though most avid boaters don't put their toys away until the weather absolutely forces us to! Fall's version of the Spring Harbor Hop is every bit as fun, and a great excuse to enjoy a day cruising the lake. (As if you need an excuse!)
Don't miss the Mardis Gras Pub Crawl!
Coming up very soon (Saturday, February 18, 2017) is the extremely popular Lake of the Ozarks Mardis Gras Pub Crawl. It's still too cold for Dog Days to open up and take part, but our sister restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach, will be smack dab in the middle of all the action. Expect amazing food, incredible drinks, a festive atmosphere, and the best live music on the pub crawl route when you stop at the Boot.
Is your calendar full yet?
We sure hope not, because your favorite waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks plans to add even more events to our calendar, plus amazing live entertainment all summer long. You can still find fun at the lake in the winter, but we certainly don't blame you for daydreaming ahead to the coming 2017 Dog Days Bar & Grill season. See you soon!
