Dog Days Bar & Grill Opens This Friday - Come & Get It!

Beginning at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, Dog Days Bar & Grill will be opening our doors for the 2020 season! All of the many fantastic foods and delicious drinks you've missed all winter from our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant will be waiting for you, along with a few new additions. 

Here's a quick peek at some of what to expect this year at the Dog. Later this season we'll get into more detailed descriptions about each section of the menu. (But if you don't want to wait for that, come on in and see the full menu in person or view the Dog Days menu online.)

March 2020 Gives You 3 Amazing Lake of the Ozarks Restaurants to Choose From!

Sure, there are lots of wonderful places for dining at the Lake of the Ozarks but this month, Dog Days Bar & Grill is opening back up for the season and so is our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina! The third restaurant in our Barrett Restaurant Group, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, is actually open year-round already, which means it is also an excellent dining choice for you this month!

Here's a look at what each venue has to offer. If you love Dog Days Bar & Grill, you're bound to love these other Lake of the Ozarks restaurants and bars too. (By the way, if you're ever in need of a caterer in the lake area, we combine the talents and tastes of the entire Barrett Restaurant Group to take care of your order!) 

Wobbly Boots Roadhouse
Open Year-Round
Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach is open year-round serving the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks plus a whole lot more. They feature the most mouthwatering hickory-smoked meats which are slow-smoked in-house and use an out-of-this-world flavorful house recipe BBQ sauce. 

You can also enjoy classic BBQ entrees, fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, southern comfort foods, Black Angus burgers, and a whole lot more. Every Friday and Saturday night after 5:00 pm, they serve the most savory Smoked Prime Rib Dinner you've ever tasted! Also, their fully-stocked bar includes 21 beers on tap and their 21 TVs and giant projection screen make it an awesome place to watch sports all year long.  

Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina
Re-opening March 6, 2020
Osage Beach is also home to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. Their specialty is the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks. The authentic rubs and spices they use, which come directly from New Orleans, plus the incredible recipes they have perfected over the years make all the difference. 

They are not limited to only Creole cuisine though. Here you can also enjoy savory seafood selections, succulent steaks, fresh salads, fantastic sandwiches and wraps, signature burgers, and much more. Once the season gets underway, you can also hear many talented performers singing their hearts out. 

Just down the dock from the restaurant is Shorty Pants Marina. This gas dock and C-store feature everything you need for a great day on the water. The marina has covered dock slips for rent that come with their own amenities. Last, but certainly not least, they have two of the best waterfront vacation rental houses at the Lake of the Ozarks located right next door.  

Dog Days Bar & Grill
Re-opening March 13, 2020
Finally, a little more about your favorite waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. The doors to Dog Days Bar & Grill will be opening one week after Shorty Pants' grand opening. Beginning at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, 2020, you can once again enjoy everything you love about the Dog 7 days a week. 

First and foremost, all of your old favorites will be back on the menu again this year, like Crab Legs, Seafood Nachos, Gourmet Tacos, and our famous Beach Bowls.  As always, Chef Kevin McCowan will also have a few additional specialty menus in store for you throughout the season.  

The bar will be mixing up all of those amazing frozen drinks everyone loves, along with lots of other specialty cocktails and ice-cold beer. Once the season is in full swing, you can order from the inside bar, the tiki bar in the Dog Pound, the bar on our Woof-Top Patio, or the swim-up bar next to the pool. 

Yes, the pools will be hopping again this summer, both the family-friendly side and the one with the bar and in-water seating. Soon we'll have a long list of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks up on our website too. Then you can plan your dinners at the Dog around your favorite acts. Last week's blog already gave you a peek at the 2020 Lake of the Ozarks Annual Events at Dog Days Bar & Grill.  

We almost forgot to mention, the Dog also has our very own Lake of the Ozarks luxury waterfront vacation house rental located next door to us. Book a stay online through our website for up to 18 people and be within walking distance of all the excitement we've got planned this season.

2020 Lake of the Ozarks Events at Dog Days Bar & Grill

We've got a lot of exciting events at the Lake of the Ozarks planned for the 2020 season at Dog Days Bar & Grill in Osage Beach. (And rest assured, as the season progresses, we'll probably add a few more!) Here's a peek at all of the dates you need to mark down on your calendar now, including Opening Day at the Dog!  

Dog Days 2020
Friday, March 13
Just in time for St. Patrick's Day weekend, your favorite waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks will be opening up for another fun-filled season! Beginning Friday, March 13, 2020, Dog Days Bar & Grill will be open daily at 11:00 serving lunch, dinner, and all of your favorite drinks.

Expect many of your old favorite foods & beverages back once again and, as always, Chef McCowan is bound to have some tasty new surprises in store for you as well. Soon, our weekly live entertainment schedule will be rocking the stage every weekend and a few weeks down the road, it'll be time to open that awesome pool and swim-up bar again too! 

LOMDA In-Water Boat Show
April 17-19
The docks at Dog Days Bar & Grill will be filled with the newest and most exciting boats and personal watercraft during this in-water boat show. Get an up-close and personal look at what could possibly be your new toy for an awesome season out on the lake. 

Up at the restaurant, you can check out all the latest watercraft accessories at the many vendor booths that will be set up too. And of course, we'll be here to make sure you're well-fed while you are shopping and entertained after the show with incredible live music.  

Homegrown Festival
Sunday, May 3
This will be our 5th year hosting this amazing festival which celebrates two Missouri-made things that are always enjoyed at the Dog - live music and drinks from the bar! Some of the most amazing Missouri bands will fill our stage all afternoon long. 

To enjoy while you listen, some of Missouri's best breweries, wineries, and distilleries will be set up around the pool area offering samples of their products. If you love the Show-Me State, then this event is made for you! If you're not a big Missouri fan already, this festival is bound to make you one! Plan to make an entire weekend of it too because the Lake of the Ozarks Spring Harbor Hop happens the day before on Saturday, May 2. 

White Party
Tuesday, June 2
Start on your tan early this summer because you'll want a little color on your skin to look your best in your finest white outfit. Join us for this annual epic party. There is a strictly all-white dress code (because once we're all together, it looks super cool!) Drinks will be flowing, the pool will be lit up, and we'll have live music blasting both indoors and outside. 

Canine Cannonball
June 12-14
The Dog goes "to the dogs" this weekend for an awesome competition. Dock Dogs brings their famous Canine Cannonball to the Lake of the Ozarks where dogs compete in three categories: Big Air (long jump into the water), Extreme Vertical (high jump into the water), and Speed Retrieve (fast fetching in the water.)

In addition to being a wonderful way to show off your pet's skills and an incredible, family-friendly event to enjoy watching, we also pair with the local Dogwood Animal Shelter to raise both awareness and funds for their incredible organization. Start training your 4-legged family member now and enter this year! (Of course, you're welcome to bring them along to just sit and watch too. Well-behaved dogs are always welcome on our outside decks.) 

AquaPalooza
Saturday, July 18
Last, but certainly not least, one of the most anticipated boating events at the Lake of the Ozarks - AquaPalooza! An outdoor stage is set up facing the lake and hundreds of boats bringing thousands of people to our cove will hang out all day long for a truly amazing concert. Four fantastic bands will hit the stage throughout the day and we'll also have a great show in store for you that night too, so plan to stick around. 

No boat? No problem! You can also enjoy the music hanging out at the restaurant, one of the bars, or even while you're chilling out in the pool. Don't Miss This Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pre-Pub Crawl Concert at the Dog!

Even though Dog Days Bar & Grill is closed for the season when the Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl is happening every February, that doesn't stop us from getting in on the action! We're planning a very special concert event the night before the Lake Pub Crawl featuring Machine Gun Symphony and you are all invited! 

Pre-Pub Crawl Party
Friday, February 7, 2020
Better make plans now to spend the entire weekend of the Lake Pub Crawl in town. While Saturday is the "main event," on Friday we're starting the party a night early with some of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks. Drinks will be flowing and the Dog Days stage will be rocking with one of our favorite bands - Machine Gun Symphony! 

This face-melting 80s metal tribute band will have you thinking you traveled back in time! Exploding on stage amid a flurry of hairspray and screeching guitars, Machine Gun Symphony is not your typical cover band. They bring back an era where excess is a way of life and these musicians masterfully pay homage to the bands that created music to define a generation. Get ready to hear many of your favorites from Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, AC/DC, Poison, Guns 'N' Roses, and a whole lot more.

Before Machine Gun Symphony takes the stage, The Grasshopper Unit will get the party going. Their tribute to the Beastie Boys is bound to make them one of your new favorite bands!

You can get your tickets ahead of time at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse for just $10 each. If you wait until the night of the show, they will be $15 each at the door. Those doors and our fully stocked bar will open at 7:00 pm with the music beginning at 8:00 pm. Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl

Since you're already in town this weekend for the Machine Gun Symphony concert at the Dog, you might as well stick around on Saturday for one of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks too! The 19th Annual Lake Pub Crawl will begin at 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, and keep on going until the bars have to shut down for the night at 1:00 am. 

A $10 wristband will get you into every participating bar & restaurant all evening long, each featuring their own live music. That wristband will also give you access to the many Mardi Gras Pub Crawl busses offering a sober ride from 4:00 pm-2:30 am. On Tuesday, January 21, 2020, the Dog's very own talented chef Kevin McCowan will be created culinary delights any foodie could fall in love with. 

Each course of this gourmet dinner will be paired with a different featured whiskey. Meet the Bands of Our December Concert at the Lake of the Ozarks - The Mixtapes & 2 Screws Loose

December is here which means it's almost time to head back on over to Dog Days Bar & Grill in Osage Beach for a night full of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks! We are actually closed for the season right now but we couldn't resist throwing a great big musical party to celebrate the 1st official day of winter. (Plus, we really miss you guys!) 

The concert will take place on the indoor stage of our waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Doors will open at 7:00 pm with music beginning at 8:00 pm. Both the bar and the dance floor will be ready for you to party just like it's the middle of summer! (We plan to stay out of the pools though.) 

Tickets are available in advance at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach for $10 each or you can get yours at the door on show night for $15 each. Now, here's a closer look at the two amazing bands we've lined up for you!   

The Mixtapes
The Mixtapes are regulars to the Dog Days stage and they always bring in a huge crowd! Every member of this 5-piece group sings, which allows them to cover a wide range of music spanning the Cranberries, Nirvana, No Doubt, Beastie Boys, TLC, Radiohead, Spice Girls, Weezer, Rage Against the Machine, Britney Spears, & Beck... just to name a few! 

This talented bunch of musicians brings the excitement and nostalgia of the 90s to life with a high-energy show that will keep you on the dance floor all night long. This show will let you relive the days when radio was fun and concerts really got you excited! 

2 Screws Loose
Carrying on the 90s music theme, 2 Screws Loose will be warming up the crowd with their own special sound. Of course, you may hear more than just songs from the 90s because in their own words, they "play 90s songs and whatever else we feel like!" 

Get ready for a night similar to what you'd expect from MTV Unplugged. (That is, if you remember when MTV actually had music!) This will be the band's first appearance at Dog Days Bar & Grill and from what we've heard from them already, we know you're going to love them!  

Then, in February...
This December concert will be an action-packed night of music that you don't want to miss, so be sure to pick your tickets up today! We know you're going to love this special winter concert at Dog Days Bar & Grill so much that you'll be ready to come back again in February for another off-season musical event featuring Machine Gun Symphony!

The night before the pub crawl on Friday, February 7, 2020, the always exciting Machine Gun Symphony will be rocking the Dog Days Bar & Grill stage!

Tons of Fun Coming Your Way November & December at the Lake of the Ozarks!

Even though Dog Days Bar & Grill closed down for the season last month, we've still got a long list of awesomeness coming your way during our off-season! Some of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks is coming to the Dog in December & before that our sister restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, is hosting a few incredible events that you won't want to miss. Get out your calendars and mark these dates down! 

Fireside Chat Wine Dinner
Every year Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach hosts a series of Fireside Chats featuring gourmet foods paired with high-end drinks. In the past, these dinners were always paired with amazing whiskeys but this year, they've added a few wine dinners to the schedule as well!

The next Fireside Chat will take place on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Space is limited, so you'll want to call 573-348-2277 right away to reserve your spot. This month, tickets are $60 per person for a 5-course meal paired with Jackson Family Wines. 

11th Annual Gala of Trees
Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is also the site of one of the best annual holiday event at the Lake of the Ozarks - the Gala of Trees! The entire restaurant will be filled with beautifully decorated Christmas trees and holiday wreaths that are available through a silent auction November 20-23, 2019. All proceeds from the tree and wreath sales will be given to Candyland and The Idiot's Club to purchase toys for local children. 

There are special events planned around the Gala of Trees all week leading up to the final night when winners are announced and a bonus live auction takes place.   

• Wednesday, 11/20 - Gala Kick-Off Party
  Tree-bidding opens at 11:00 am and at 5:30 pm, a private party is going on with Gala Punch, a special buffet, and prizes up for grabs. Tickets are $20 each.
• Friday, 11/22 - Cans For Christmas
  Bring in 5 non-perishable food items to the Boot to donate to a local food pantry and get half-off one of their delicious appetizers. (One per person)
• Saturday, 11/23 - Live Auction & Silent Auction Winners
  Immediately after the silent auction closes at 8:00 pm, a live auction for more wonderful holiday items will begin. 

December Concert at the Dog
We can't let them have all of the winter fun over at the Boot! We'll be opening the doors to your favorite waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks for a 1-night-only concert on Saturday, December 21, 2019. A Dog Days fan-favorite band, the Mixtapes, will be bringing their special brand of 90s party music to our stage! 

Opening for the Mixtapes will be Two Screws Loose. This will be their Dog Days debut and we expect you to love them right away! Tickets can be picked up in advance at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse for $10 each or you can pay $15 at the door on show night. Doors will open at 7:00 pm with music beginning at 8:00 pm. (Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for details about our special February Pre-Pub Crawl concert too!)

If you find yourself craving Dog Days Bar & Grill over the long winter months, satisfy that craving by letting us cater for you!
