Happy Thanksgiving from Dog Days!

Thanksgiving is finally here! This is such a great holiday weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks. Families are reunited, football games are streamed from every television, and tables are buried underneath more food than anyone can possibly eat. Even though we're currently closed for the season, the team at Dog Days Bar & Grill is super excited to celebrate this wonderful holiday weekend with our friends and families.

Origin of Thanksgiving

The very first Thanksgiving feast was held in 1621. The Pilgrims had landed at Plymouth Rock and settled in the New World the year before. Unfortunately, that first winter proved extremely harsh and over half of the settlers did not survive. The next year, however, they reaped a bountiful harvest. The surviving Pilgrims held a great feast to celebrate their good fortune - and thus, Thanksgiving was born!

Thanksgiving was celebrated annually for many years before it became a federally recognized national holiday. President Abraham Lincoln finally declared Thanksgiving a federal holiday in 1863. After that, the actual day people celebrated Thanksgiving continued to fluctuate until Congress passed a resolution declaring Thursday would be celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. 

What Are You Thankful For?

This is a holiday designed to give us time to recognize, celebrate, and give thanks for the wonderful blessings in our lives. It is a time to relax, to feast, and to tell those around us how we grateful we are for their presence in our lives. We thought it would be appropriate to take some time to personally thank all of our loyal customers for making Dog Days one of the best waterfront restaurants on the Lake. We wouldn't be what we are today without you all!

Celebrate Fall Harbor Hop at Dog Days!

If you think the Lake of the Ozarks is only fun in the summer, then you've got another 'think' coming! Dog Days Bar & Grill wants to announce the return of the Annual Fall Harbor Hop... and it's going to be bigger and better than ever! Join us for this top-notch event on Saturday, October 11th.

Participating in the Harbor Hop is as Easy as 1, 2, 3!

ONE:  Pick up your starting card at Dog Days Bar & Grill or any of the other participating locations (a $20 entry donation is optional). 

TWO:  Build your seven-card poker hand by visiting the different participating checkpoints. Pick up one card at each location until you have a complete hand. If you want, you can also purchase an optional eighth card for $5. Individual players may also build more than one poker hand.

THREE:  Turn in your finished hand at whatever checkpoint gives you your final card, and stay tuned to see if you're a lucky winner!

Prizes Galore!

Harbor Hop certainly isn't stingy with its prize money. The pot will be created from the entry donations the players provided, and the lucky holders of the winning hands will get to take home a percentage of the pot!

Bogeys & Beer Golf Tournament on October 13th!

The 15th Annual Bogeys & Beer Benefit Golf Tournament is only a few weeks away! Mark your calendars now for Monday, October 13th. Registration will begin at 10:00 AM. Dog Days Bar & Grill, along with the other Barrett Restaurants, is very excited to be able to sponsor this wonderful event!

All of the proceeds raised will benefit the Lamb House, Kid's Harbor, and the CADV at the Lake of the Ozarks. Choose from one of the sponsorship levels below to participate in this great event for a great cause!

Passport Bike Ride 2014!

Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest is back - and it's bigger and better than ever! Dog Days and the other Barrett Restaurants are proud sponsors of this exciting event, and we're looking forward to being a bikers destination at Lake of the Ozarks this weekend. There are a lot of great events taking place, but we're especially excited about the Passport Bike Ride!

Passport Bike Ride

Break out your motorcycle and use it to visit several locations around the Lake of the Ozarks for a chance to win a 2013 Harley-Davidson FLD Dyna Switchback! The Passport Bike Ride runs from 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 11th through 11:00 AM on Sunday, September 14th. 

You may enter the competition at any of the participating locations listed below. Get your passport stamped at each of the locations and turn in your completed passport to Harley Davidson Dealership for a chance to win!
