5 Reasons Why Dog Days is Awesome in Autumn

Fall at the Lake of the Ozarks is an incredible time of year. The scenery is simply breathtaking as a backdrop of colorful leaves compliments the relaxing view of the lake. Another bonus is that our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant is still open for the season. 

That means you can still enjoy everything that you love about Dog Days Bar & Grill before we eventually bring our season to an end. (It's not too late yet!) Here are 5 highlights about what it's like around here right now that you simply cannot pass up.  

Fantastic Fall Menus
Our regular menu is still available to order from, but we're also currently offering a special "Super Bowls" menu. This features football-themed dishes (like the Patty Mahomes Bowl - Go Chiefs!) We also have a spectacular "Fall Cocktails" menu with refreshing seasonal drinks that you are sure to love. Get a more detailed look at each drink and food item here.    

That Amazing Lake View
The ever-changing scenic beauty found all around the lake area in the fall is something everyone should witness. If you thought the panoramic view from our lakeside decks was fantastic throughout the summer, wait until you get a look at it with colorful fall foliage along the shores!  

It's Less Crowded
We still have a lot of people joining us daily for lunch, dinner, and drinks but since the majority of vacationers head to the Lake of the Ozarks in the summer, it's unlikely you'll have to fight through any crowds this time of year. The Fall Harbor Hop is happening this Saturday, October 12, 2019 (and we're a 2-card stop) so that will be busy and exciting. Most of the days around here right now though are perfect for relaxing lakeside and truly enjoying the experience. 

You Can Stay With Us
For everyone living in the lake area, it's no problem to head on over to Dog Days for lunch or dinner. If you're coming from out of town, you may need a place to stay while you're here. Stay with us! Well, in our Lake of the Ozarks luxury vacation house rental located next door to Dog Days, that is.

You can check availability and make a reservation online year-round. (Yes, you can stay here even when the restaurant is closed!) This luxury lake view house has 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and all the comforts of home. The perfect place to stay with the entire family or a great big bunch of friends.

We're still open around here for at least a few weeks longer, but we are a seasonal restaurant, so at some point, we're going to have to close down for the winter. Not yet though! A Week of Excitement - Bogeys & Beer AND the Fall Harbor Hop!

If someone tries to tell you that the lake area is boring once summer is over, then they're looking for fun in all the wrong places! Coming up very soon at Dog Days Bar & Grill we've got two awesome annual events happening in the very same week! Plus, our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant, heated pool included, is still open 7 days a week. Fall at the lake is amazing when you know where to go!

Bogeys & Beer Golf Tournament
Thursday, October 10
If you enjoy golf, beer, and spending an entire day outside having the time of your life, then this is the perfect event for you. The money raised goes to some very deserving local organizations too, so you're even helping the community while you have some fun! 

The 20th Annual Bogeys & Beer Benefit Golf Tournament is taking place at The Oaks at Margaritaville in Osage Beach. Registration will begin at 10:00 am with a shotgun start happening at 11:00 am. Tons of prizes are up for grabs, there will be all kinds of tasty drinks to enjoy, and a box lunch is being provided by Mexicali Blues. 

There are 3 levels of team sponsorships available, plus another level for anyone wanting to donate but not necessarily play. (These levels are detailed in the flyer below. Download a registration flyer here. ) Once the tournament is over, everyone will be heading to Dog Days Bar & Grill for an event dinner. There will be some terrific silent and live auction items for you to bid on too. 

Fall Harbor Hop
Saturday, October 12
You'll have Friday to recover from Bogeys & Beer but then it's time to hop on the boat and collect a winning poker hand for the 34th Annual Fall Harbor Hop! In case the concept is new to you, here's how it works. 

A $20 donation made at any of the participating stops allows you to begin "hopping" across the lake from place to place picking up a card at each venue until you have a full hand of seven. (Dog Days Bar & Grill happens to be a 2-card stop, which means you can plan to spend a little extra time here hanging out with us. Be sure to bring your suit because our pools are heated!)

You can find a full list of stops, prizes available, and rules by visiting www.Funlake.com/HarborHop. As long as you have your hand turned in by 7:00 pm that day, you will be in the running for some great prizes. The talented Steven Moore will entertain our crowds during the day and once you're done hopping, be sure to head back to the Dog to dance the night away with DJ Curt.

Stay Next Door to the Dog
If you're coming from out of town, or if you live locally but want to spend the entire weekend right next door to all the action at the Dog with a group of friends, book our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront vacation house rental. Things Are Still Exciting at Dog Days, Even in the Off-Season!

Dog Days Bar & Grill may be closed for a few months, but that doesn't mean that we've stopped planning all kinds of exciting things for you to enjoy right now! Our winter break isn't a vacation, but rather a perfect planning period for all kinds of upcoming fun.  

ONE NIGHT ONLY - Dec. 8, 2018!
On Saturday, December 8, 2018, we're opening our incredible waterfront bar for one very special evening of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks!  We'll have the bar open for you and the stage open for a Dog Days' crowd favorite, Machine Gun Symphony. These guys bring back the era of infamous 80's metal in a way that will keep you out on the dance floor all night long.  

They will be joined by special guests Zero Zero. This band will take you on a journey back to all of your musical guilty pleasures from the 2000's. (Although their Facebook page notes that eyeliner and skinny jeans are not included!) 

Doors open at 7 pm for this very special off-season night of excitement at Dog Days Bar & Grill. Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach, or you can pick yours up for $15 at the door the night of the event.

Our sister BBQ restaurant is open year-round, so even though you can't party at the Dog nightly this time of year, the Boot is ready to welcome you with open arms 7 days a week! They have a few awesome events of their own going on now and coming up in the near future too.  

• Gala of Trees
  November 14-17 the 10th Annual Gala of Trees is taking place inside Wobbly Boots Roadhouse. The restaurant is filled with lots of beautifully decorated trees and holiday wreaths available to bid on by silent auction. Proceeds raised will be used to give local families a very happy holiday. 
• Thanksgiving Turkeys
  If you love the taste of hickory-smoked turkey, then order your Thanksgiving turkey from the Boot! They are offering 12-14 pound turkeys for $49.99 or you can bring in a turkey to be smoked for $1 per pound. Call 573-348-2277 to make the arrangements.   
• Live Music
  The incredible Art Bentley will hit the stage at the Boot for Black Friday this year (Friday, Nov.23) at 9 pm. He'll also be back again for New Year's Eve to help everyone ring in the New Year. 

Holiday Catering

The combined culinary talents of Dog Days Bar & Grill, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, and Shorty Pants Lounge create the Barrett Restaurant Group. Together we offer the best catering at the Lake of the Ozarks for any and every type of special event, large and small. 

You aren't limited to our regular menu items when we cater your event (although you are welcome to request your favorites!) Our chefs will work with you to create a custom menu for your meeting or celebration. Winter Rentals

It's centrally located in the lake area with plenty of room to share with the entire family or a big group of friends.

5 Reasons You're Going to Love Dog Days This Fall

Fall at the Lake of the Ozarks is a breathtaking time of year to take in all of the scenic beauty as it changes colors. Our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is still open this season, and we're located smack dab in the middle of all that gorgeous autumn scenery. The Woof Top Patio we added this past season offers an eagle-eye view of all that beauty. Also, with fewer boats cruising by than during mid-summer, the water seems to be an even bolder blue.

Our kitchen is still dishing up the best food at the Lake of the Ozarks. All of your favorite menu items from this season are still being served for lunch and dinner 7 days a week beginning at 11 am. Dog Days Bar & Grill's Lake of the Ozarks Waterfront Vacation Rental House

Our new Lake of the Ozarks waterfront vacation house rental sits right next door to our waterfront bar & restaurant (within walking distance of all the fun and excitement at Dog Days Bar & Grill!) It's been full most days all summer long, but we've got some great dates open this fall, including Shootout Weekend and Labor Day weekend. (Although we expect those prime dates to book up quickly, so don't wait if you want it!) 

LOTS of Space
This gorgeous luxury vacation rental has plenty of room for you and a whole bunch of your friends, or bring the entire family and make a mini-reunion out of the trip. This 4,500 square foot property sleeps up to 16 comfortably, and there is more than enough room for everyone to spread out and relax. It contains 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and 1 half-bath. 

Upstairs you will find a large living room, kitchen, and master bedroom with a bathroom. That master suite has a king-sized bed, double vanity sink, jetted tub, and a double shower. 

Another large living room, complete with a pool table, is located downstairs. Perfect for keeping the group entertained. This level also contains 4 bedrooms plus 2 full bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms offer queen-sized beds, and the fourth bedroom has a set of bunk beds. The house also has 2 sleeper sofas for guests to use. 

All the comforts of home will be waiting for you during your stay. This vacation rental house comes with a coffee maker, dishwasher, dishes & utensils, kitchen appliances, washing machine & clothes dryer, linens, towels, an outdoor grill, internet access, and much more. As we mentioned earlier, it is also located right next door to Dog Days, so our great food & drinks, live music, and the lakeside pools are just a short walk away from your stay!

The view of the main channel that you have enjoyed for years from Dog Days Bar & Grill is the same view that this incredible house offers. It sits on the 19 mm. Large windows show that breathtaking view off nicely when you're inside, plus there are 2 decks that run the length of the house, both upstairs and downstairs. 

When you stay in this fantastic Lake of the Ozarks vacation rental, you may also use its dock, which is perfect for swimming in the lake or lounging by the water. There is a 14'x38' covered boat slip available on the property, and you also get the option to park at the Dog Days customer boat docks.
