We've Got Great Dishes For National Seafood Month

Since October happens to be National Seafood Month, it seemed like the perfect time to feature the delicious seafood dishes that you can enjoy when you dine at the best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. Many people know all about the succulent Crab Legs and savory Seafood Nachos you can get at Dog Days Bar & Grill, but we've got a LOT more on the menu in addition to those wonderful dishes. 

Seafood is always a popular menu item, especially when you're sitting lakeside with "fish" on the brain. Our creative chefs have come up with some incredible combinations that will leave you full and satisfied, yet still craving more! Take a quick look at what we have in store for you, then get on down here and enjoy some of it!   

Asian Shrimp Tacos
Sauteed teriyaki shrimp, crisp cabbage, pico, and shredded pepper jack cheese.

Blackened Mahi Tacos
Mahi filets seared in our Southern spices with crisp cabbage and pico in two flour tortillas and drizzled in roasted tomato and jalapeno cream. 

Lobster Tacos
Fried lobster, cabbage, peppadew aioli, mango, and scallions in flour tortillas. 

Seafood Nachos
We start with corn tortillas, chile con queso, salsa, and sour cream, then add crab, shrimp, scallops, Cajun sauce, diced tomatoes, peppadews, and jalapenos.

Crispy Lobster Bites
Deep-fried and served with peppadew aioli and fresh lemon. 

Avocado Relleno
We take a fresh avocado, cut it in half, hand-bread those halves and fry them until golden brown. Then they're stuffed with sweet and spicy sauteed shrimp, Texas caviar, roasted tomato, and jalapeno cream. Try it "beach style" and keep it fresh instead of fried. 

Shrimp Spinach Avocado Wrap
Grilled garlic shrimp with fresh spinach, sliced avocado, tomato, and peppadew aioli in a spinach tortilla. 

Crab Legs
Sweet, succulent snow crab legs are boiled in our Southern spices and served with garlic butter and lemon.

Crab Rangoon
Crispy fried wontons filled with crab meat, cream cheese, and spices, served with mango chutney dipping sauce. 

Ahi Tuna Platter
Seared yellowfin tuna, chilled and sliced thin, served with Napa cabbage, sesame ginger sauce, wasabi cream, and pickled onions. 

Asian Tuna Salad
Grilled Ahi tuna, fresh baby greens, pickled beets, radishes, fresh mango, tri-color carrot nest, heirloom tomatoes, peppadew, and cucumbers. 

Blackened Mahi Sandwich
Our Southern-spiced Mahi filet on a brioche bun, served with green leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, onion, lemon, and tartar sauce. 

Baked Seafood Pasta
Sauteed scallops, shrimp, and crab meat in a garlic cream sauce with cavatappi pasta. We then top it with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and bake it golden brown, served with a side dish, salad, and garlic toast. 

Maui Fish Bowl
Blackened filets of Mahi-Mahi topped with peas, carrots, fresh mango, and a coconut curry sauce with long grain wild rice and quinoa. 

Numerous studies state that a person should strive to eat seafood at least twice a week. With a menu like the one above, you'll be wanting to eat it way more often than that! Our family-friendly Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant has a wide variety of different tastes on the menu, made with fresh and savory ingredients. Have You Seen Our Brand New Pool Yet?

The latest trend among waterfront restaurants in the lake area is to have a swimming pool. Well, our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant takes pride in being the most fun place to hang out all summer long, so of course we had to put in a pool of our own! Your reward for patiently putting up with the construction going on at Dog Days Bar & Grill all spring is not one, but two incredible and refreshing pools to lounge in lakeside. 

You may have been shocked when we first opened up this year to find a gigantic hole between the indoor restaurant and the Dog Pound tiki bar. Our big deck, 2nd outdoor bar, and outdoor stage were completely gone! Well, the guys worked hard to replace all of that with something amazing, and that hard work paid off last week.  

We were able to debut our brand new pool at the 2017 White Party on Tuesday, June 13. Ever since then, plenty of people have been out to enjoy this awesome new addition to Dog Days Bar & Grill.

As we mentioned above, there are actually 2 pools. A smaller one with fountains that is perfect for families to enjoy. Right next to that is the larger pool, with access to a swim-up bar and in-water tables to hold your cocktails while you swim. Now you've got every reason to spend the entire day hanging out with us at the Dog! Between lunch and dinner, you've not only got our air-conditioned restaurant to cool off in, but also the pool. 

Since the bandstand was torn down, we've been hosting live music in the Dog Pound. Our outdoor entertainment now has a new home on a brand new stage. It's larger than the old one, and it is centrally located so that it can be seen and heard no matter where you are hanging out at in our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar. 

We're not stopping there! We've got a lot more coming your way to make Dog Days Bar & Grill even bigger and even better. We'll be putting the finishing touches on the new bar by the pool soon, and just past the pool we've still got more construction going on. Get ready for a new kitchen, awesome gift shop, and (are you ready for this?) a rooftop patio! Wait til you get a look at our amazing view from that vantage point!

This weekend we've also got the Support Our Troops Poker Run happening on Friday. If you haven't signed up for that yet, get on it! AquaPalooza is back again on July 15, when we'll have both the new pools and the water in front of our lakeside stage packed full of people ready to have a rockin' good time. Enjoy the “Dog Days of Summer” Here With Us!

It’s still the “Dog Days of Summer” at the best waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks! Even though the official Dog Days of Summer ended last week, we decided to keep them going. Dog Days is THE PLACE to enjoy the late summer, and here’s why:

The View

The view from Dog Days Bar & Grill is the best at the Lake. Sit on our decks and patios and watch an amazing array of boats come and go. Enjoy the sunset and just relax. People-watching at Dog Days is also a favorite pastime for our customers. Take in the natural beauty that the best recreational lake in the United States offers.

Our Docks

We have been voted one of the nation’s top 10 performance boating watering holes by Powerboat Magazine, and if you have taken your boat to one of our docks, you know why! We are the perfect place to start, end, or be in the middle of a cruise on the lake. We have plenty of room and we are one of the most centrally located restaurants on the water. 

Our Drinks

Late summer still means frozen drinks, and we have the best around. Enjoy one of our signature cocktails like the “Peach Pick”, “Frozen Hurricane”, or the “Straw-Pomegrino”. We also have the traditional drinks like Margarita’s, Rum Runners, and a full array of liquor and beer sure to quench your thirst and keep you cool.
