Meet the Bands of Our December Concert at the Lake of the Ozarks - The Mixtapes & 2 Screws Loose

December is here which means it's almost time to head back on over to Dog Days Bar & Grill in Osage Beach for a night full of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks! We are actually closed for the season right now but we couldn't resist throwing a great big musical party to celebrate the 1st official day of winter. (Plus, we really miss you guys!) 

The concert will take place on the indoor stage of our waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Doors will open at 7:00 pm with music beginning at 8:00 pm. Both the bar and the dance floor will be ready for you to party just like it's the middle of summer! (We plan to stay out of the pools though.) 

Tickets are available in advance at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach for $10 each or you can get yours at the door on show night for $15 each. Now, here's a closer look at the two amazing bands we've lined up for you!   

The Mixtapes
The Mixtapes are regulars to the Dog Days stage and they always bring in a huge crowd! Every member of this 5-piece group sings, which allows them to cover a wide range of music spanning the Cranberries, Nirvana, No Doubt, Beastie Boys, TLC, Radiohead, Spice Girls, Weezer, Rage Against the Machine, Britney Spears, & Beck... just to name a few! 

This talented bunch of musicians brings the excitement and nostalgia of the 90s to life with a high-energy show that will keep you on the dance floor all night long. This show will let you relive the days when radio was fun and concerts really got you excited! 

2 Screws Loose
Carrying on the 90s music theme, 2 Screws Loose will be warming up the crowd with their own special sound. Of course, you may hear more than just songs from the 90s because in their own words, they "play 90s songs and whatever else we feel like!" 

Get ready for a night similar to what you'd expect from MTV Unplugged. (That is, if you remember when MTV actually had music!) This will be the band's first appearance at Dog Days Bar & Grill and from what we've heard from them already, we know you're going to love them!  

Then, in February...
This December concert will be an action-packed night of music that you don't want to miss, so be sure to pick your tickets up today! We know you're going to love this special winter concert at Dog Days Bar & Grill so much that you'll be ready to come back again in February for another off-season musical event featuring Machine Gun Symphony! 

Even though we're still not quite open for the 2020 season yet in February, we couldn't pass up the chance to get in on some of the Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl fun. The night before the pub crawl on Friday, February 7, 2020, the always exciting Machine Gun Symphony will be rocking the Dog Days Bar & Grill stage!

Dog Days Bar & Grill's Signature Nachos & Tacos

You'll find lots of delicious menu choices at the best waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, so it's easy to please everyone in your group. Among those choices are some foods that are generally thought of as Mexican cuisine, but here we've added our very special Dog Days Bar & Grill touch to create Nachos and Tacos like you won't see, or taste, anywhere else! 

Our Nachos and Tacos have always been popular menu items here at the Dog. Don't expect the typical types you'd expect to get at a regular Mexican restaurant. Our Nachos and Tacos contain ingredients you won't normally be offered, such as hickory-smoked pulled pork and succulent seafood. If you're in the mood for something kind of familiar but worlds above what you're used to, give one of the following menu items a try the next time you visit us. 

NACHOS
All of the nacho creations at Dog Days Bar & Grill begin with a bed of crispy corn tortilla chips, plus chile con queso, salsa, and sour cream. From there, you can choose one of the following styles for a nacho experience like no other!  

BBQ Pork
Slow-smoked pulled pork, jalapenos, pickles, and Bourbon BBQ. 

Spicy Beef
Seasoned ground beef, pico, jalapenos, cheddar jack cheese, shredded lettuce, and roasted tomato jalapeno cream sauce. If you prefer, chicken can be ordered instead of beef for $1 more.  

Seafood
Crab, shrimp, scallops, Cajun sauce, diced tomato, peppadews, and jalapenos. 

Tuna Poke
Chilled yellowfin tuna tossed with a sweetened soy ginger sauce, diced mango, wakame, pickled ginger, wasabi cream, and sesame seeds on top of fried wontons.  

TACOS
All taco meals at the Dog are served with curly fries, or you can substitute one of our delicious signature sides for a small additional charge. Salsa and sour cream are available upon request. 

Jerk Chicken Tacos
Smoked with island spices, cabbage, peppadews, sweet corn, and sweet and spicy jerk sauce. 

Asian Shrimp Tacos
Sauteed teriyaki shrimp, crisp cabbage, pico, and shredded pepper jack cheese. 

Blackened Mahi Tacos
Mahi filets seared in our Southern spices with crisp cabbage and pico on two flour tortillas drizzled with a roasted tomato and jalapeno cream. 

Spicy Beef Tacos
Ground beef, shredded lettuce, cheddar jack cheese, pico, and roasted tomato and jalapeno ranch. 

Steak Tacos
Blackened tender tips with our Southern spices, cheddar jack cheese, pico, roasted tomato and jalapeno cream and cabbage in two flour tortillas. 

Once you decide which of those culinary masterpieces to order, you may also want to get something cool and refreshing to wash it down with. We've got ice-cold Corona and marvelous margaritas for you to choose from, as well as a host of other delicious drinks from the bar. You can enjoy it all lakeside on our fantastic deck, or join us indoors if you need to get out of spring showers or intense summer heat.

Coming This April to Dog Days Bar & Grill...

We've been having a lot of fun at Dog Days Bar & Grill so far this season and as time passes, more fun is being planned! April isn't quite as full event-wise as the summer will be, but that doesn't mean you should put off a trip to our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks until later. In addition to all of the tastes you love, we've got a few fun things planned for April that you are really going to enjoy. 

LIVE MUSIC
Every Saturday night we throw the liveliest dance party in town! The best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks can always be found on the Dog Days' stages. We've got the most exciting DJs lined up to spin all of your favorite hits at the beginning of the month, and during the LOMDA In-Water Boat Show, the bands and DJs will be going all day long! We haven't booked music yet for the final weekend in April, but give us a little time, and we promise it will be someone you absolutely love!

LOMDA IN-WATER BOAT SHOW
April 20-22
It's back! The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association (LOMDA) is once again bringing their amazing in-water boat show to the docks of Dog Days Bar & Grill. Their promise is "More Dealers - More Boats - More Brands - More Vendors - More Fun!" and they always deliver every bit of that during this event. 

The in-water boat show features everything you will need for the upcoming boating season, and you can get a hands-on, close-up look at all of it. LOMDA represents over 50 local marine dealers, and we'll have vendor booths on land and actual boats and PWCs in the lake. 

Whether you come just to browse or to pick up something brand new to get out on the water with, you're going to be amazed at everything you see. Exciting Annual Events Coming to Dog Days in 2018

Dog Days Bar & Grill's 2018 season is well underway, and opening weekend was incredible! We loved seeing everyone that showed up, and we can't wait to see the rest of you, as well as make new friends at our waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, very soon.

The amazing food and incredible drinks that you know are waiting for you at Dog Days is more than enough to convince you to join us. The unbelievable Lake of the Ozarks annual events we host every year are pretty awesome too, and knowing when these will take place can help you to plan your visits. There will very likely be more added, but here are the always popular events we have on the calendar for 2018 so far. 

April 20-22
LOMDA In-Water Boat Show
The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association begins each spring with a fantastic boat show that takes place in and around our docks. With booths on the land and boats & PWCs in the lake, you will get a hands-on experience showcasing all the newest stuff for this season. We'll have live entertainment beginning at 1 pm and going all the way until close. The ever-popular Funhouse will be one of the groups performing that day.    

May 5
Spring Harbor Hop
We love being one of the many stops for the Lake of the Ozarks Harbor Hops, both in the spring and in the fall. You'll want to make the time to visit a few other stops (there are over 40 participating bars & restaurants around the lake) to fill out your poker hand, but spend the majority of the day here with us! Live music will be happening onsite from 1 pm-close, including the always entertaining Pearl. Get out on that glorious water and maybe even win some great prizes while you're at it. 

May 6
Homegrown Festival
The day after the Spring Harbor Hop, you'll want to be back at Dog Days all day long on Saturday for our 3rd Annual Homegrown Festival. We'll have a spectacular lineup of talented musicians from Missouri performing all afternoon. You'll also have the chance to sample some of the best breweries, distilleries, and wineries that our great state has to offer.  

June 8-10 
Canine Cannonball
This event sponsored by DockDogs.com is one that the entire family will enjoy, especially the four-legged members! Spend the weekend watching talented canines competing to find out who can jump the farthest, fastest, and highest into the lakeside pool we'll have set up for the competition. You get a day full of exciting family fun, and our local Dogwood Animal Shelter will be on hand to raise a little money and awareness. Don't have a four-legged family member yet? Dogwood can help you find one!  

June 22
Support Our Troops Poker Run
This particular annual poker run is a fun day out on the water for you plus a wonderful fundraiser for H.E.R.O.E.S. Care. This is an organization that is dedicated to working with others to provide support to military families in the communities where they live. It will be an exciting day on the Lake of the Ozarks and a chance to help out some well-deserving people at the same time.   

June 29
Can-Am BBQ Competition
The Can-Am Police-Fire Games will take place at the Lake of the Ozarks this year, June 25-July 1. On Friday, June 29 Dog Days Bar & Grill will be hosting a BBQ competition connected to this grand event. Competitors from firehouses and police stations from across the country will face off in various categories to see who is the best pit-master! Afterward, we will also be hosting the "Guns and Hoses" lounge party sponsored by Jim Beam on our brand new rooftop patio for the competitors and officials of the games.  

July 21
AquaPalooza
The largest 1-day boating event at the Lake of the Ozarks! This lakeside concert that brings thousands of people to it each year can be seen and heard from the land, but it's even better if you park your boat in our cove and enjoy it from the water! We'll have 4 amazing live bands performing throughout the afternoon, and if you don't feel like chilling out in the lake, you can hang out in the pool instead and simply listen. We're still finalizing the lineup for the big show, but after the concert on the water, we'll have Taz & Dr. Cheese from 6-10 pm followed by Weaver from 10 pm-close. 

Beyond those incredible events, there will also be our Shootout Pre-Race Party in August, the Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest in September, and of course the Fall Harbor Hop in October, plus many, many more exciting reasons to join us at the best waterfront bar and restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. The "Cabin Fever" Limited Time Specialty Menu at Dog Days Bar & Grill

Anyone else out there looking for a cure for their winter cabin fever? We know exactly what you need... a trip to Dog Days Bar & Grill in Osage Beach! The long wait is finally over because the best waterfront bar and restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is opening for our 2018 season on Friday, March 9 at 11:00 am. 

We are every bit as anxious as you are to get back to enjoying the best food, drinks, and live music that is ever-present at the Dog each season. We're bringing back all of your favorites, along with a few new ones for you to fall in love with. 

To kick things off, we are featuring a limited-time, specialty, cabin fever curing menu that has been influenced slightly by the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday. That one falls on a Saturday this year, and you can expect the celebration to be going on all day long at Dog Days Bar & Grill! These food items should help to get you into the Irish spirit. 

CABIN FEVER FOOD MENU

Irish Nachos

Kettle chips fried golden brown and topped with melted sharp cheddar, corned beef, crisp bacon, diced red pepper, tomato, and green onions drizzled with herb cream.

Grilled Salmon Spinach Salad

Grilled salmon with basil butter served on top of fresh baby spinach, heirloom tomato relish, candied pecans, cucumber, red onion, hardboiled egg, and bacon, with a warm mustard dressing and garlic toast.

Pub Burger

A half-pound burger grilled and topped with corned beef, melted sharp cheddar spread, stout onions, and spicy brown mustard on a pretzel bun.

Cuban Reuben

Smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, Russian dressing, and coleslaw served on grilled rye bread.

Irish Parfait

Layers of custard, berries, candied pecans, shaved mint, and whipped cream.

Bobber is an unfiltered lager brewed with inspiration from the pale German lagers. Noble hops provide little bitterness and lend to the crisp finish with a hint of floral notes. Best of luck with the bass fishin'. Pairs well with crappie filets, tots, and deer sausage.

Dog Days Bar & Grill's 2018 Opening Day is Friday, March 9th!

It seems like forever since last fall when your favorite waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks closed down for 2017, but the long wait for fantastic frozen drinks, incredible food, and amazing live music at Dog Days Bar & Grill is almost over! Our opening day for the 2018 season will begin at 11:00 am, Friday, March 9, and we expect to see all of you there at some point over that weekend! Here's what you can expect when you join us. 

NEW Kitchen
We are extremely excited about our brand new kitchen! Last year we had a few growing pains trying to keep up with the many additional orders we had due to all of the new seating. Our original, smaller kitchen wasn't set up to handle all of those extra people, but this year, we're ready for all of them and more! Chef Kevin is especially excited about creating all kinds of incredible dishes in what he's calling his new "Food Lab."    

NEW Rooftop Patio Bar
Everyone here at the Dog is also anxiously awaiting the opening of our brand new rooftop patio bar. We expect it to be the most popular spot to hang out this summer. The view from up there is out of this world! You will enjoy an amazing vantage point for the main channel of the Lake of the Ozarks, the Grand Glaize Bridge, and even our very own pool area. 

Awesome Events and Live Music
As always, we've got some of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks in the works for you. A few things are still in the planning stages, but we do have dates set for some of the big ones.

Our stages, both inside and outside, will be welcoming back all of your favorite live music acts, plus we've even found some brand new bands to entertain you. Those Incredible Pools
We won't have our pools open right away, but as soon as we're sure that the weather isn't going to take another drastic change and the warmer temperatures are here to stay, we'll let you know when to get those swimsuits out. In case you are unfamiliar with the setup, we have one pool that is family-friendly, and the other has a spectacular swim-up bar and plenty of in-water tables to hold your drinks.  

Fantastic Food & Drinks
Last, but certainly not least, we'll be serving up all of your favorite summertime foods and those amazing drinks you love! Expect to see a few new dishes on the menu too. 

Just as we have in the last couple of years, we'll be kicking off the season with an Irish-themed Limited-Time Menu in honor of the upcoming St. Patrick's Day. (That holiday happens to fall on a Saturday this year, so we expect it will be even more fun than usual!) We'll be featuring that menu in next week's blog, so be sure to keep an eye out for it! 

All of us here at Dog Days Bar & Grill are so glad that we have the majority of the construction behind us and those plans have become a reality! We are especially thankful that this year we have actual restrooms completed for use outside instead of those porta potties from last year. (They were better than nothing, but we're so happy they won't be needed anymore!)

Not Goodbye - Just "See You Later!"

As much as we hate to say it, it's time to shut down your favorite Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant for the season. We know, we know... we dread this time of year too, but we had another amazing season, and we've still got until Saturday, October 28, 2017, to have some more fun. Make your plans now to get to Dog Days Bar & Grill before our season's officially over, and in the meantime, take a look back with us at all the exciting stuff that happened over the summer.  

New Additions
When we opened on St. Patrick's Day, the brand new swimming pools and swim-up bar weren't quite finished yet, but eventually, all of that work was completed and our awesome customers had a summer full of pool time where there only used to be outdoor seating! There's even a kid-friendly section where they can play and splash away from the bar area so you can bring the whole family for a day full of outdoor fun. 

Since the new construction took out our outdoor stage, we added a bigger, better one that's visible from the Dog Pound, the pool, and the restaurant's outdoor deck. And you probably thought we were already as amazing as we could possibly get! (wink)  

Annual Events & Live Music
As expected, we filled the brand new Dog Days Bar & Grill stage, as well as our indoor stage, with many of your favorite mid-Missouri musicians all season long. We also brought back many of your favorite annual events, plus added a couple of exciting brand new ones. The LOMDA Spring In-Water Boat Show, 2nd Annual Homegrown Festival, White Party, Canine Cannonball, our rockin' stage for Bikefest, and Bogeys & Beer were anticipated by many and enjoyed by all!  

New to the Dog this year was not 1, but 2 Log Jams at the Lake, taking place on July 4 weekend and Labor Day weekend. The crew from Columbia's annual Roots, Blues, & BBQ Festival, along with Logboat Brewing Company & 102.3 BXR, brought some unbelievable live blues music, great giveaways, and delicious local beer tastings for you to enjoy, and we hope they are willing to do it all again next year! We also hosted one of the lake area's first ever Silent Discos. It may have looked weird, but it was awesome!    

New Menu Items
This year's menu contained many of our classic dishes, plus added a lot of new dishes featuring fresh ingredients full of healthy-goodness. The Beach Bowls were a huge hit, with the Chicken Stir Fry Bowl, Vegan Bowl, Maui Fish Bowl, and Thai Chicken Bowl. 

Our limited-time specialty menus brought additional scrumptious recipes to you. These included: Sunny Spring Burgers, "Bowl Appetit" Specials, and the most recent Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey-Inspired Menu. All of them were incredibly well received, but don't worry if you didn't have a chance to try them out. We'll be brainstorming this winter to bring you even more exciting flavors next season! 

More Coming Next Spring
It's been quite an eventful season at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant, and if you've been here lately, you've seen that we're already building on even more for next season! Construction continues for even more new additions, our creative cooks are already dreaming up new dishes, and our bartenders are always coming up with something unique and awesome.
