Come to Dog Days this Weekend for the Lake of the Ozarks Harbor Hop!!

We are getting closer to the Lake of the Ozarks Spring Harbor Hop - Dog Days Bar & Grill and Shorty Pants Lounge will once again be stops in the event that marks the beginning of the Boating Season at Lake of the Ozarks!!

If you haven't been to a "hop" before, you are going to love this event!  Participants will venture around the Lake stopping at different participating Lake of the Ozarks Waterfront restaurants and marinas to draw playing cards.  The object is to build a winning poker hand that is awarded with different prizes.   Winning is great - but a day on the water visiting some of your favorite waterfront restaurants is even better!!

Players donate $15 per seven card hand and the fun starts as they hop around the Lake to draw their hand at any of the 30+  participating restaurants and marinas around the Lake. 

Here is a list of the Prize Allocations from the Convention and Visitors Bureau website:

1st Place - 10%
2nd Place - 9%
3rd Place - 8%
4th Place - 7% each
5th – 10th Place - 5% each
4 Worst Hands - 4% each
Random Drawing for 10 Hands - 2% each

Full Moon Float In Returns to Dog Days!!

It's almost time for another fun-filled Dog Days Event ...This Thursday is the Full Moon Float In.  Come out to Dog Days Bar & Grill and help us celebrate our first Full Moon of the season!!

We have a great night planned and believe it or not, they are calling for 60+ degree weather and ZERO chance of rain - so get the boat out and head on over to Dog Days!!  

We will have a $10 Caribbean Buffet featuring Jerked Ribs, Fried Calamari, Conch Fritters and fresh Salads!!  WE will also be featuring some new products from Sauza, Budweiser and Red Bull - so be sure to come out and get your drink on with some new featured items from some of the best distributors around!!

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association is having the 2013 In Water Boat Show at Dog Days Bar & Grill!! 

The Marine Dealers Association has over 50 Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers the represent many different types of boats, accessories, dock equipment and anything else that promotes Lake Lifestyle!!  This will be the perfect opportunity to check out the newest boat models and visit with representatives in person to answer all your questions. 

This year, the event will be April 19th-21st and will have more dealers, more boats, more brands and more vendors.  It's a great day to get out with family or friends for some fun times at Dog Days Bar & Grill.

The Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl

Even though Dog Days Bar and Grill is closed for the season, our sister restaurant will be participating in one of the best parties at the lake.....The 2013 Mardi Gras Pub Crawl!!!  This is the 11th year for the event and each year we grow in the number of attendance, the number of live bands and the number of participating restaurants.  Below is some information about the event that will help you plan your crawl!!

The 2013 Pub Crawl Wrist Bands are required and are only $7.00 per person.  Instead of charging a cover at each venue, you simply pay one fee for a wrist band and you can get into every participating bar/restaurant.

The wrist band  includes:  Entry to 22 participating venues, unlimited entertainment and bus transportation to all 22 locations.  They will also offer pick up and drop off at participating Hotels/Motels. Wrist bands can be purchased the night of the event or before the event at all 22 participating bars/restaurants and specific Hotel/Motel sponsors.

Leave your keys and take the bus!!!  28 total buses run from 4:00 pm till 2:30 am and will get you to and from your location with no need to drive.We provide the sober chauffeur.  The only thing you need to do is kick back, leave you keys behind, jump on a bus and have fun. Hotel shuttles are provided to get your crawl started and route buses stop at every location on the CRAWL!!!

Another Great Season For Dog Days Bar & Grill

What does the Dog Days crew do in the winter?  Just because the doors are closed does not mean the Dog is hibernating.  We work hard all winter long to make sure we are up and running when you come back in the Spring!!

There are two things we focus on during the bitter winter months.  

1. How do we make the next season even better than the last?
2. Catering and private parties at Lake of the Ozarks.

The planning has already begun for the 2013 season because we want to make sure every year is even better than the previous one.  The bands, the events, the drinks, the food, the staff - we review everything - and try to find ways to improve the Lake of the Ozarks BEST Entertainment, our Menu, our service and the satisfaction of all our customers.   Feel free to comment on some of your favorite foods, bands or drinks on our Facebook Page - we appreciate your input and want to make sure you keep coming back for more!!

 We also continue to Cater throughout the winter!! Even though some of our facilities are closed, the Barrett Restaurant Group will still bring the power of three diverse restaurants to you and your party. Depending on the size of your party, we can offer on-premise facilities including Dog Days, The Dog Pound, Shorty Pants Lounge, and Wobbly Boots BBQ!  We can also accommodate a smaller party by bringing the party to you! Our experienced staff will help you create a personal event to your liking. We can custom design menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner, reception, or seminar breaks.

We strive to provide the best products and services to your guests and schedule all events on a first come, first serve basis. To guarantee a date and time for a catering event, you must book and confirm your event in advance with our sales office.

The Annual Disco Party at Dog Days Bar & Grill

This weekend we are having the Annual Dog Days Disco Party and you won't wanna miss it!!  Everyone is always excited to get their groove on and show up for the final party of the season - but the question lingering in everyone's mind... "What am I going to Wear"??  

The Disco Era had some amazing music, but it also had a wide array of amazing fashions for you to choose from!!  Here are a couple of ideas to get your imagination juices flowing!!

Go to your local Thrift Stores - this is by far the best place to start when putting together your retro ensemble.  There are plenty of dated clothes to choose from and more than likely you will find them at a great deal!!   Look for polyester shirts, shiny pants, thick chains, halter tops, mini skirts and bell bottoms are some perfect things to look for.

Have fun with your hair - Show off your own hair in a whole new style or choose a wig!!  Men should consider growing a thin mustache or purchasing a "stick on" mustache for the evening or maybe even finding that perfect Afro wig.  Ladies, Afro wigs are also a great choice along with teased hair, super straight hair or maybe try a Farrah Fawcett style.

Dress in Costume - There are some great classic characters from the 70's disco era to pattern your style after.  Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, the Partridge Family, the Brady Bunch, or how bout the gang from Scooby Doo?  Think about (or Google) the television shows or movies during the 70's and use their style as a party outfit inspiration.

Have Fun  - This is one of the best Parties at the Lake of the Ozarks and a celebration of a great season coming to an end.  It's your time to let your Saturday night Fever Burn.  Hey, if you love a great party but you don't have the 70's attire, come on out to Dog Days and help us close out a great season with a Far Out Party that will Blow Your Mind!!!

2012 Fall Harbor Hop at Lake of the Ozarks

This weekend is the 26th Annual Fall Harbor Hop at Lake of the Ozarks!

Once again Dog Days Bar & Grill will be participating in the Annual Fall Harbor Hop and we are excited to see boating enthusiasts come out for some Lake of the Ozark Hopping!  The event is sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Marine Dealers Association and waterfront restaurants around the Lake area.

The Harbor Hop is a boating event in which participants will hop from various restaurants and marinas to draw playing cards in order to build a winning had that is eligible for prizes.  Boaters that want to participate can donate $15 per seven-card hand.  You can start your hop anywhere and begin drawing your first card at any of the 30+ sponsoring restaurants and marinas.  For a complete list go to http://funlake.com/harborhop/

1st Place - 10%

It's time for the 12th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Wing Ding and our very own sister restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, will be competing for the title of the BEST WINGS!!!  

The Wing Ding is a charitable event that benefits the Easter Seals of Missouri and brings together Lake Area restaurants to compete for the title of the Best Wings!!  This title is highly sought after by all the Lake Area chefs and they bring their very finest to the competition.  This Thursday night from 5-7pm you can help support a great cause and have all-you-can-eat wings and 2 drinks for only $10 per person!!

The event benefits the Easter Seals which is an organization that provides exceptional services, education, outreach and advocacy that enables people living with autism and other disabilities to live, learn, work and play in the community.  For nearly 90 years, Easter Seals has been helping individuals with disabilities or special needs and their families.  With a variety of services offered by the Easter Seals, they have helped individuals with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.

2012 Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout

The  Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout will be held at Captain Ron's  Bar & Grill August 18-26th.  The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the Midwest and draws over 100 racers and 100,000 spectators and will benefit the Lake Area Rescue Teams and other local charities. 

Powerboat Magazine Readers have voted this race the #1 boat race/shootout in the country and has also been listed as one of the 8 "must see" boating events.  Official speeds at Captain Ron's have been clocked at 208 mph, many claiming even faster speeds.  This year new radar guns may prove these claims to be true.  In 2011, Bill Tomlinson hit speeds of 208 on three different runs, Skater boats were flying at 191 mph and even the pontoons were racing at speeds of 107 mph. This will be a great year to check out the races and hopefully see some record-breaking speeds from the racers.

• Noon-1pm - Lunch and open swimming
• 1pm-4pm - Final Top Gun Racing
• Awards Ceremony following racing

Shootout Benefit Golf Tournament at Old Kinderhook

• Price is $85 per person or $340 per team
• Includes Box Lunch, golf cart and lots of prizes
