March 2020 Gives You 3 Amazing Lake of the Ozarks Restaurants to Choose From!

Sure, there are lots of wonderful places for dining at the Lake of the Ozarks but this month, Dog Days Bar & Grill is opening back up for the season and so is our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina! The third restaurant in our Barrett Restaurant Group, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, is actually open year-round already, which means it is also an excellent dining choice for you this month!

Here's a look at what each venue has to offer. If you love Dog Days Bar & Grill, you're bound to love these other Lake of the Ozarks restaurants and bars too. Wobbly Boots Roadhouse
Open Year-Round
Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach is open year-round serving the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks plus a whole lot more. They feature the most mouthwatering hickory-smoked meats which are slow-smoked in-house and use an out-of-this-world flavorful house recipe BBQ sauce. 

You can also enjoy classic BBQ entrees, fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, southern comfort foods, Black Angus burgers, and a whole lot more. Every Friday and Saturday night after 5:00 pm, they serve the most savory Smoked Prime Rib Dinner you've ever tasted! Also, their fully-stocked bar includes 21 beers on tap and their 21 TVs and giant projection screen make it an awesome place to watch sports all year long.  

Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina
Re-opening March 6, 2020
Osage Beach is also home to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. Their specialty is the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks. The authentic rubs and spices they use, which come directly from New Orleans, plus the incredible recipes they have perfected over the years make all the difference. 

They are not limited to only Creole cuisine though. Here you can also enjoy savory seafood selections, succulent steaks, fresh salads, fantastic sandwiches and wraps, signature burgers, and much more. Once the season gets underway, you can also hear many talented performers singing their hearts out. 

Just down the dock from the restaurant is Shorty Pants Marina. This gas dock and C-store feature everything you need for a great day on the water. The marina has covered dock slips for rent that come with their own amenities. Last, but certainly not least, they have two of the best waterfront vacation rental houses at the Lake of the Ozarks located right next door.  

Dog Days Bar & Grill
Re-opening March 13, 2020
Finally, a little more about your favorite waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. The doors to Dog Days Bar & Grill will be opening one week after Shorty Pants' grand opening. Beginning at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, 2020, you can once again enjoy everything you love about the Dog 7 days a week. 

First and foremost, all of your old favorites will be back on the menu again this year, like Crab Legs, Seafood Nachos, Gourmet Tacos, and our famous Beach Bowls.  As always, Chef Kevin McCowan will also have a few additional specialty menus in store for you throughout the season.  

The bar will be mixing up all of those amazing frozen drinks everyone loves, along with lots of other specialty cocktails and ice-cold beer. Once the season is in full swing, you can order from the inside bar, the tiki bar in the Dog Pound, the bar on our Woof-Top Patio, or the swim-up bar next to the pool. 

Yes, the pools will be hopping again this summer, both the family-friendly side and the one with the bar and in-water seating. Soon we'll have a long list of the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks up on our website too. Then you can plan your dinners at the Dog around your favorite acts. Last week's blog already gave you a peek at the 2020 Lake of the Ozarks Annual Events at Dog Days Bar & Grill.  

We almost forgot to mention, the Dog also has our very own Lake of the Ozarks luxury waterfront vacation house rental located next door to us. Book a stay online through our website for up to 18 people and be within walking distance of all the excitement we've got planned this season.

Exciting Events Happening at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse This Winter

Dog Days Bar & Grill may be closed for the season, but our awesome sister restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach, is open all year-round and taking over our party-planning duties for the winter! Starting with the best New Year's Eve Party at the Lake of the Ozarks, here is a look at all of the excitement they are bringing your way in the next couple of months! 

New Year's Eve Party
Sunday, December 31, 2017
End 2017 with a delicious BBQ dinner followed by incredible dance music, great drinks, and 2 amazing prize drawings! Wobbly Boots BBQ will be serving up their always-fantastic menu until 10 pm on New Year's Eve, and once the kitchen closes, DJ Christian Guerrero starts spinning all of the best dance music for the rest of the night until 1 am.

Drinks will be flowing all night at the bar, and at midnight everyone will share a champagne toast. During the party, there will be 2 out-of-this-world prizes given away. The first will be 2 tickets to the pre-party at Dog Days the night before the Mardi Gras Pub Crawl, and the other will be 2 tickets to the Boot's Whiskey Pairing Dinner along with a bottle of bourbon. Get ready for an evening filled with course after course of delicious dishes, each paired with a tasty whiskey. There will be an expert on-hand to walk you through each pairing. Seating will be limited, so if you don't win tickets, you may want to pick yours up before you head home after the New Year's Eve party.

Yes, you read that right. Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant is making a special ONE-NIGHT-ONLY opening the evening before the pub crawl to throw a winter event of our own! We've lined up two incredible bands for an evening you do not want to miss. The 90's hip-hop band "Dope Ass Sneakers" will start the music portion of the party at 8 pm. Once they've got you thoroughly excited, we'll bring on a group that's always a crowd favorite here at the Dog, "The Mixtapes!" Good luck winning tickets at the Boot's New Year's Eve Bash, but if you don't, grab some soon. There will only be a limited number sold.

Last but not least, the great big 2018 Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl! We hate missing out on participating in this one each year (which is why we're throwing the pre-party) so you need to make sure that you don't miss it. For a mere $10, you'll receive a wristband that gets you a ride on the pub crawl shuttles all night long, as well as entry into the 13 bars & restaurants on the route, including Wobbly Boots Roadhouse. Each venue will host their own live music, and all you have to do is jump on a bus and have fun at every place that it takes you! You can stay informed with all of the Mardi Gras Pub Crawl updates by texting "LakePubCrawl" to 71441.    

After that, it won't be too long until your favorite waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks will be opening our doors for the 2018 season. The Boot is getting the new year started off right (with a little help from us in February) and Dog Days Bar & Grill will be back next season to get your spring amped up. It's Time for the 2017 Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl

You don't have to wait until we open Dog Days Bar & Grill this spring to have an awesome weekend at the lake. We've got one of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks coming up this Saturday, February 18. The Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl has 17 bars and restaurants ready to show you an incredible time, including our favorite BBQ restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse! Here's a little advice on how to have the best pub crawl ever! 

Buy A Wristband
Your ticket to all the fun is a single $10 wristband. This will get you into all 17 participating bars and restaurants, plus it will allow you to board any of the 32 buses that will be providing a sober ride for pub crawlers from 4:00 pm on Saturday until 2:30 am Sunday morning. These buses will even be making stops at hotels along the pub crawl route.  

Wristbands can be picked up anytime before or during the event at all of the pub crawl stops, select hotels, and also at Sunshine & Daydreams on the Bagnell Dam Strip. Once that's done, just put it on, hop on a bus, and get ready for the night of your life!   

Plan A Route
Every Lake Pub Crawl stop will host its own live entertainment, so you may want to take a peek at www.LakePubCrawl.com to see where and when your favorite musicians will be playing. Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, for instance, will have 2 incredible entertainers keeping the party going for the entire event. 

First, the Barefoot Entertainer himself, Dale Blue, will take the stage from 4-8 pm. Immediately after he is done, Vinyl Richy will take over, and the music won't stop until last call for the night. 

In addition to the awesome music, mouth-watering BBQ, and delicious drinks you already expect from the Boot, they will also have a food tent set up in the parking lot so you don't have to wait for a table to grab a bite to eat. They will be serving pulled pork, burgers, brats, and hot dogs to keep your energy high and your night going strong.  

Pick A Bus
Your wristband gives you access to all of the 32 buses offering pub crawlers a safe and sober ride all night long. 28 of those buses will be stopping at every participating bar and restaurant, in order. The 4 remaining "express buses" will offer a quick trip to get you to the other side faster, making stops at only 4 designated locations.

2016 Gala of Trees Holiday Event at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse

We feel like we get to have all the fun in the summer being the best waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks, but our sister restaurant, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, just keeps getting to have all of the fun this fall. First, they were a part of the Lake Stock Fall Crawl, they are consistently the best place to watch all your favorite sports, and now they are hosting the annual Lake of the Ozarks Gala of Trees, November 17-19! 

What is the Gala of Trees? 
Dog Days Bar & Grill realizes that many people prefer to put thoughts of Christmas off until after Thanksgiving, but there's a wonderful reason for filling Wobbly Boots BBQ with tons of decorated trees and wreaths the week before Thanksgiving. This event raises money to share between the Lake Ozark Rotary and the Lake of the Ozarks Idiots Club so that they can purchase Christmas gifts for families that might not otherwise get to celebrate the holidays this year.

Lake Regional Hospital generously donates the trees and wreaths, and local businesses and organizations volunteer to decorate them with all sorts of unique items. People are then asked to bid silent-auction-style on each of them during the 3-day event. Winning bidders will get to take home these fully decorated items, and local area children will get to have a happy holiday because of those generous donations.   

Thursday Night Kickoff Event
It is free to bid on the trees and wreaths during the event, but on Thursday evening, there will be a special kickoff party at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse. Tickets for that are $20 each, and everyone in attendance will get to enjoy delicious appetizers and soups, one glass of Gala Punch, and the exclusive chance to win a Gala Christmas Wreath that will be given away that very evening at 9 pm. The remaining auction items will be on display until Saturday night. 

Final Bids 
The excitement builds until Saturday evening when final bids will be taken. The incredible Dale Blue will be entertaining the crowd while last-minute bidders cast their bids. The lucky winners will then be allowed to take their beautifully decorated prizes home. 

Don't Miss It!
It only takes a little time to stop by the Gala of Trees and place a bid on your favorite holiday tree or wreath. While you are there, we highly suggest you get a taste of our sister restaurant's unbelievably delicious, hickory-smoked BBQ. We're pretty proud of them, and we just know you're going to love it!

Lake Stock Fall Crawl 2016 & Wobbly Boots Roadhouse!

Another exciting event is happening at the Lake of the Ozarks on November 5, 2016, and Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is smack dab in the middle of it! The Lake Stock Fall Crawl is the area's "Woodstock on Wheels" - the grooviest night of fun you'll find this fall. Dog Days Bar & Grill has all of the details for you right here. 

The Wristband
It only costs $10 for access to every participating bar and restaurant on this Lake of the Ozarks pub crawl, as well as to ride on the shuttles traveling the route all night long. Every stop will feature its own live music, nightly specials, and crowd full of people having tons of fun. You can pick up your wristband at any participating location stop beginning next week all the way up to the day of the event.

The Buses
Bus transportation is included with the purchase of a wristband so that you are guaranteed a sober ride all evening. Have as much fun as you want and know that you can get to all of the fun safely. Buses will run a continuous loop around the route all night long. They will even make stops at all lodging facilities located on the shuttle route between the Bagnell Dam Strip and Hwy KK. You can find a list of hotels and rental houses on the Lake Stock Fall Crawl website, along with the weekend discounts they will be offering. 

The Boot
Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach, our sister restaurant that is open year-round, is on this year's pub crawl map, and it's a stop you're going to want to spend some quality time at! They'll have incredible live music on their stage, and as always, the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks served alongside delicious drinks. You'll also be able to catch up on the day's sports scores and catch any late-night games on their 21 TVs. 

Now how about that BBQ? They create their very own housemade BBQ sauce and add it to a delicious variety of tender, hickory-smoked meats. Their award-winning Wobbly Wings are famous around town, and the home style side dishes that accompany the meals are just like grandma used to make! Comfort food at its finest! 

At the bar, they feature 21 different beers on tap, including a few local Missouri brews. This is in addition to their brand new drink menu, featuring lots of specialty cocktails which include a long list of mule drinks plus the Pain in the A** you've come to love right here at the Dog.
