Great Live Music & Exciting Events Are Coming To Dog Days This July!

We'll be wrapping up an eventful June this week, which means it's time to look forward to all of the exciting stuff your favorite waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks has in store for you in July! You already know we've got delicious food & drinks 7 days a week, as well as that awesome pool. Here are the events that you can enjoy at Dog Days Bar & Grill in July while you are already enjoying those other things too! 

Independence Day Log Jam
Saturday, July 7
We're keeping the holiday going into the weekend! If you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did at the Memorial Day Log Jam, then you need to get our 4th of July version marked on your calendars right now. If you missed it, well then you definitely need to make an effort to join us this time around! Also, if you need a place to stay, the Dog Days vacation house rental at the Lake of the Ozarks is available this weekend (at this time, but act fast!)     

This always-incredible holiday weekend event will take place from 1-5 pm and is presented by the 2018 Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival, Logboat Brewing Company, 102.3 BXR, and yours truly, Dog Days Bar & Grill. There will be lots of ice-cold Logboat beer flowing, plenty of fun giveaways, and the unbelievably talented King Benny taking the stage to take our party up to another level! Plan to stick around after the Log Jam too, because we've got more live music coming your way all night long.   

AquaPalooza 2018
Saturday, July 21
It's time once again for the biggest single-day boating event at the Lake of the Ozarks! Join us from noon-5 pm, by lake or by land, for this 5-hour long party and lakeside concert. We'll have the stage set up facing the cove, plus vendor booths at the restaurant. There is another out-of-this-world lineup planned for the 2018 concert (see below) and we expect the energy from you guys this year to make it even more fun & exciting than last year! (That's a tall order, but we know you've got it in you!) This is the type of event that you'll kick yourself for missing, so don't! Conserve your energy so you can stick around all night too because we've got more entertainment planned for after AquaPalooza is over.

Who's Ready For AquaPalooza 2018?

We are just one month away from the biggest party on the water at the Lake of the Ozarks - AquaPalooza! This year's event will be taking place on Saturday, July 21 at Dog Days Bar & Grill in Osage Beach. If you haven't already started making plans, now is definitely the time to do so!

What is AquaPalooza?
AquaPalooza, in case you haven't heard, is the biggest single-day boating event at the Lake of the Ozarks. This amazing concert on the water takes place from noon-5 pm, with even more awesome entertainment happening in the evening once its over. 

Thousands of people attend this annual event at our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant every year, by land and by lake. Hundreds of boats will be parked in and around our docks for a prime view of the lakeside concert, but you can both hear and see the stage from the restaurant too, and it will be just as packed up there! 

People come from all over the country to attend this awesome party. The waiting list for dock slips alone fills up a year in advance, but no worries, because all of the boaters that don't get a slip simply tie up to each other and fill the entire cove with watercraft. In between those boats, the lake is filled with people on floaties, sitting back, relaxing, and having a great time with all the new friends they're meeting. 

As we mentioned, AquaPalooza can also be enjoyed from the restaurant. We've got the Dog Pound cranking out drinks as well as the swim-up bar at the pool. This year we've also got our brand new Wooftop Patio open for business with the most amazing view of the Lake of the Ozarks you've ever had the pleasure of seeing, especially on a day like this!

Every year the most entertaining live acts hit the AquaPalooza stage, and this year is no exception. We've got 4 incredible bands lined up to keep the party going all day long.

Don't expect the party to end once the last act leaves the stage, though, because we've got even more live music headed your way on our regular stages that night! First up, DJ Dr. Cheese and Taz the Drummer will entertain you from 6-10 pm, followed by Chad Bearden rocking the house 10 pm-close.

If you're coming to the lake area from far away, start making those travel plans right now. If you live nearby, make sure you've made arrangments to get yourself to Dog Days Bar & Grill early on Saturday, July 21 and back home again late that evening. This is an annual event that you do not want to miss, and most likely the most exciting party you've ever attended. Occasionally we like to feature different sections of our delicious Dog Days Bar & Grill menu in our blog, hoping it will make you hungry enough to jump in your car or boat and head our way! Previously this season we've featured items from our waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks like the signature entrees, tacos, nachos, pasta, and our incredible Beach Bowls. Today, it's all about our specialty sandwiches, salads, and wraps! 

These are all filled with fresh, tasty, and mouthwatering ingredients that are sure to cure even the hungriest of appetites. Find a seat lakeside or poolside, pair any one of these menu items with a delicious cocktail from the bar or a refreshing glass of iced tea, and get ready for a meal worth telling all of your friends about! 

SPECIALTY SANDWICHES & WRAPS
Each of these is served with natural cut fries, or you can substitute one of our signature sides for a small additional charge. 

Dogwood Avocado Club
Shaved smoked turkey breast, ham, crisp bacon, green leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, fresh avocado, Swiss and American cheese, with garlic mayo on wheatberry bread. 

Blackened Mahi Sandwich
Our Southern spiced Mahi filet on a brioche bun served with green leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, onion, lemon, and tartar sauce. 

Bourbon BBQ Pulled Pork
Slow-smoked pulled pork drizzled with our sweet bourbon BBQ sauce and spicy pickles on a cracked black pepper and sea salt brioche bun. 

Steak and Cheese
Seared beef tender tips with Provolone cheese on toasted French bread. Add peppers, onions, and/or mushrooms for a small additional charge. 

Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich
Charbroiled chicken breast topped with smoked ham, grilled pineapple, teriyaki glaze, and Swiss cheese on a brioche bun. 

Grilled Chicken Sandwich
A 7-ounce chicken breast chargrilled on a brioche bun served with green leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, sweet onion, and mayo. Bacon and/or avocado are available for a small additional charge. 

Chicken Caesar Wrap
Fresh chopped romaine, creamy Caesar dressing, chopped bacon, shredded Parmesan cheese, and chicken wrapped in a sundried tomato wrap. 

Shrimp SpinachAvocado Wrap
Grilled garlic shrimp with fresh spinach, sliced avocado, tomato, and peppadew aioli in a spinach tortilla. 

Buffalo Chicken Wrap
Chicken tenders tossed in our original hot sauce, mixed greens, mozzarella cheese, and diced tomatoes in a whole wheat wrap, served with ranch or bleu cheese. 

SALADS
Our fresh and savory salads are served with garlic bread and your choice of dressing, which includes Buttermilk Ranch, Bleu Cheese, Honey Mustard, Italian, Sun-Dried Tomato Vinaigrette, Fat-Free Ranch, Raspberry Vinaigrette, 1,000 Island, Asian Ginger Vinaigrette, and Balsamic Vinaigrette. 

Asian Tuna Salad
Grilled Ahi tuna, fresh baby greens, pickled beets, radishes, fresh mango, tri-color carrot nest, heirloom tomatoes, peppadew, and cucumbers. 

Cobb Salad
Crisp baby greens, fresh avocado, heirloom tomatoes, red onions, bleu cheese, mozzarella, English cucumber, hardboiled eggs, crisp bacon, smoked turkey and ham. 

The Farmers Garden
Fresh greens, heirloom tomatoes, English cucumber, tri-color carrots, corn kernels, red onion, sweet peas, pickled beets, radishes, and garlic croutons. 

Caesar Salad
Fresh romaine lettuce, tossed with parmesan cheese, house-made Caesar dressing, and garlic croutons. Grilled chicken may be added for a small additional charge. 

Grilled Chicken Strawberry Spinach Salad
Baby spinach greens, candied pecans, sliced strawberries, cucumbers, fresh grilled chicken breast, garlic croutons, bleu cheese crumbles, and a raspberry vinaigrette.

It's Canine Cannonball Time at the Lake of the Ozarks!

We are well-known for hosting some of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks, and one of those much-anticipated events is this weekend's Canine Cannonball 2018! If your four-legged family member enjoys jumping in the water as much as most of us do here at the lake do, then you'll want to get your team signed up for this family-fun weekend at Dog Days Bar & Grill.

Event Details
This year's Canine Cannonball will take place Friday-Saturday, June 8-10. It's always thrilling for people of all ages to watch, and the dogs that are here that day seem to really enjoy it too! We'll have a great big pool set up down by the water, and our four-legged competitors will take turns to see who is the best jumper in the lake area.  

The competition is open to all dogs and their handlers, and there are 3 categories in which to compete. You are welcome to sign up for 1, 2, or all 3 events. Those events area explained below, followed by the weekend's schedule.

• BIG AIR - This is a long jump for dogs. They may begin at any point on the 40' dock. When ready, they run and jump as far as they can after a toy thrown into the water by their handler. The distance between the end of the dock to the point where the jumper's tail set breaks the water's surface is logged as the official distance.  
• EXTREME VERTICAL - This is a high jump for dogs. They begin at the 20' mark on the dock. A bumper toy is extended 8' from the end of the dock over the water. Jumps begin with the toy at a height of 4'6" and that height is increased by 2" increments as the competition progresses. 
• SPEED RETRIEVE - In this event, dogs once again begin at the 20' starting mark on the dock. A bumper toy is suspended 2" above the water at the far end of the pool with a starting indicator light above it. Once that light turns green, the handler releases their dog, the time clock begins, and it stops as soon as the dog pulls the toy from the bracket.

Benefitting the Dogwood Animal Shelter

Our local no-kill shelter, the Dogwood Animal Shelter, will once again be onsite this year with four-legged friends for you to add to your happy family. (Dad would probably love to get a dog for Father's Day this year!) Who knows, you may just adopt next year's big Canine Cannonball winner! We will also be selling souvenir Canine Cannonball t-shirts, and all of the proceeds raised from the t-shirt sales will go directly to the Dogwood Animal Shelter. 

We also currently have a "Vodka for Dog People" promotion going on in conjunction with Tito's Vodka. Now through the end of the Canine Cannonball weekend, if you order a specialty cocktail off of our Tito's Dog Drink Menu, $10 from each purchase will go to the Dogwood Animal Shelter. In addition to that, Tito's Vodka will match that $10, making it a total of a $20 donation, all from one drink! 

As a bonus for you (or actually, for your dog,) every drink also comes with your choice of a leash, chew-toy, or water bowl. Non-drinkers are welcome to purchase those doggy items for $10 without the cocktail, and that money will be donated along with Tito's matching donation.

Exciting Events Coming To Dog Days Bar & Grill This June

With another successful Memorial Day Weekend in the books, it's time to look forward to some of the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks coming to Dog Days Bar & Grill next month, June 2018. Start of Summer Luau
Sunday, June 3
Okay, technically the first day of summer won't officially happen until June 21, but we're going to start celebrating its arrival early! Zambu is helping us throw an outstanding luau complete with everything you need to feel like summer is already here. Join us at the Zambu Bar on the top of our brand new Woof Top Deck for refreshing cocktails, bombs, and shots featuring the delicious Zambu.

Zambu is a vodka-based, handmade liqueur infused with an edible exotic flower from the Amazon that gives you a unique and pleasant tingling sensation when you drink it. To go along with all of those delicious drinks, we'll be having a hog roast with lots of tasty side dishes. You can spend the day mingling with the promo girls by the pool and enjoy the musical talents of AZ-1 on our outdoor stage.     

14th Annual White Party
Tuesday, June 5
Start tanning now and get your best white outfits ready to wear because it's nearly time for the party event of the summer - our 14th Annual White Party at the Dog! This fantastic event got its start at our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, but got so big and popular that they passed the torch on to us. There's a strictly all-white dress code, and we'll be partying out by the pool to the sounds of DJ Vinyl Richy and CEO, and indoors with the talented Taz 1 and Doc C. We'll have Effen Vodka and Red Bull drink specials all night long, and if you're sharing photos on social media, be sure to tag all of your pictures with #dogdayswp18.  

Canine Cannonball
June 8-10
This much anticipated family-fun event is a favorite every year. We set up a big pool down by the lake and dogs, along with their handlers as coaches, compete to see who is the best jumper in 3 different categories - Big Air, Speed Retrieve, and Extreme Vertical. The Dogwood Animal Shelter, a local no-kill shelter, will be here too, just in case you want to adopt a 4-legged family member of your own to take home after the event! If you'd like to sign your dog up to compete, visit www.DockDogs.com for all the details.   

We also have a fundraiser with Tito's Vodka going on right now until the end of Canine Cannonball weekend. Through their "Vodka for Dog People Program," which aims to rescue needy animals, we'll be raising money to benefit the Dogwood Animal Shelter. $10 from every drink on our special cocktail menu will go to the shelter, plus Tito's Vodka will match that $10! As an added thank you, every drink comes with your choice of a leash, chew-toy, or water bowl to take home.

By this time summer will officially be here, so Budweiser is hosting an awesome party at the Dog in the best pool at the Lake of the Ozarks. They'll have their promo team giving out all kinds of goodies and samples of their newest products. You get to chill out by the pool and wait for the always amazing Rosy Hips to take the stage for an entire day and night full of excitement!

Memorial Day Weekend at Dog Days Will Be the Best One Ever This Year!

Memorial Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks is quite an exciting time to be in the lake area. There are all kinds of things happening all over town, but by far the best stuff is happening at Dog Days Bar & Grill! Take a look at what we have in store for you when you join us. 

THE ENTIRE HOLIDAY WEEKEND...
You know what to expect from our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant if you've been here before, and if you haven't, well then, you're in for a treat! 7 days a week we serve an amazing menu full of delicious food to enjoy lakeside, poolside, or inside our indoor, smoke-free dining room. A few of our specialties include Crab Legs, Nachos (4 different kinds!) Signature Burgers, Gourmet Tacos, Beach Bowls, and much, much more. 

You can wash down your menu choices with a refreshing drink from one of our 4 bars. There's one inside, a tiki bar in the Dog Pound outside, a swim-up bar next to our incredible pool, and the newest bar on top of our Woof Top Patio, offering the most breathtaking view of the main channel of the Lake of the Ozarks. 

You can enjoy all of that any day of the week during our regular season. Now, here's a list of special events we've got planned especially for the holiday weekend that you don't want to miss. 

FRIDAY, May 25
We'll be open at 11 am for everyone that is able to get their holiday weekend started a little bit early. Swing by, grab a seat by the pool (or in it) and enjoy lunch and a few cocktails before the big crowds start getting into town. Once the sun starts going down and you're really ready to party, DJ Dr. Cheese will be spinning all of the best dance music all night long.  

SATURDAY, May 26
This is by far going to be the biggest day of the weekend at the Dog! As usual, doors open at 11 am. After that, we've got amazing things planned for you all day (and night) long!

We're hosting another holiday weekend Log Jam along with Logboat Brewing Company, NASH-FM, and the team from the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival out of Columbia. This event is happening from 1-5 pm and will feature amazing blues music and samples of Logboat's best beers. We'll be spinning tunes by artists that will be performing at the 2018 Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival, such as the Avett Brothers, Sturgill Simpson, Nathaniel Ratcliff and the Night Sweats, Los Lobos, Lake Street Dive, and many, many more! There will also be all kinds of cool giveaways happening all afternoon long, plus special drawings for exclusive Log Jam t-shirts and even tickets to this year's RNBNBBQ Festival. Once that's all wrapped up, we've got the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks ready to take the stage and keep you entertained. From 6-10 pm we've got the incredible Baub Eis Band rocking the Dog, followed by the always entertaining Rosy Hips from 10 pm until close.       

SUNDAY, May 27
Memorial Day makes it a 3-day weekend, so on Sunday, we're only partially through all of the excitement! We'll have the pool, kitchens, and bars open and running all day long. In the evening, we have a Dog Days favorite hitting the stage - The Mixtapes! Be sure to rest up poolside during the day so that you can dance the night away to this exciting band's brand of music.  

MONDAY, May 28
Things start winding down a little bit on Memorial Day Monday with people that have traveled to the area needing to get back home. Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant will still be open and ready to party, so if you live nearby or were able to extend your holiday weekend, we'll be right here waiting to keep the excitement going with you! 

Things can seem to get a little crazy on a holiday weekend in the lake area, so take extra precautions to keep yourself safe, both on the roadways and on the water. Of course, with all of the exciting stuff we've got planned for you at Dog Days Bar & Grill, you could just hang out here with us all weekend and save the traveling for when you need to head home! Memorial Day Weekend Features Another Log Jam Event and MORE!

We've got a big holiday weekend coming up, and if you're lucky enough to spend Memorial Day Weekend 2018 at the Lake of the Ozarks, you'll need to know where to find the fun. The answer, of course, is the same all season long - Dog Days Bar & Grill! Sure, we're classified as a waterfront bar & restaurant, but we're also so much more! 

Logboat Log Jam
On Saturday, May 26 of Memorial Day Weekend, the Log Jam is back at the Dog! Columbia, MO's very own Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival is sending down a part of their team along with Logboat Brewing Company to bring this awesome holiday party to the lake. 

Logboat will be showing off some of their tasty brews, the RNBNBBQ team will be passing out all kinds of cool stuff, and we'll have some amazing blues music coming from our outdoor stage from 1-5 pm. Keep an eye out for next week's blog and we'll have more details about all of that for you. You can know now that it's a party you do NOT want to miss!

The best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks won't be limited to just the Log Jam. We've got incredible entertainment lined up for you all weekend long.

Dining, Drinking, & Swimming...

...or lounging by the pool, or chilling out in the water by the swim-up bar, all depending on how you like to spend your pool time. Our bartenders can mix up your favorite cocktails and hand them to you, and you won't even have to get out of the water. 

You will, however, need to get out of the water to enjoy the items on our fantastic food menu. We finished the rest of the construction on the other side of the Dog Pound, and our newest section includes a second kitchen, so we'll have no trouble keeping up with all the orders when it gets busy. Above that kitchen, you'll find our brand new Woof Top Patio, which has a vantage point of our lake view that is going to blow your mind! 

Vodka For Dog People
Beginning right now, throughout Memorial Day Weekend, and lasting until the end of this year's Canine Cannonball (June 8-10,) Tito's Vodka is bringing a great program to Dog Days Bar & Grill. The "Vodka For Dog People Program," which aims to rescue needy animals, was started at Tito's Vodka in 1998. 

When you buy a cocktail from our special Tito's Dog Drink Menu, $10 from each purchase will be donated to the Dogwood Animal Shelter, and Tito's Vodka will match that $10, making it a $20 donation! As a bonus for you, a leash, chew-toy, or water bowl is yours to keep with each drink purchased. Non-drinkers can still purchase those doggy items for $10 without the drink, and Tito's will still match that $10 donation!

Last, but certainly not least, Dog Days now has the best vacation rental at the Lake of the Ozarks available to you, and it's right next door to us! This amazing rental property offers 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, 4,500 sq/ft of living space, and it overlooks that same great lake view that you can see from Dog Days. 

Being a new rental, we've got quite a few dates open at the moment, but we expect those to start filling up fast once people hear about this terrific new house. Check availability online, and even book your reservation there too.
