Lake Stock Fall Crawl 2016 & Wobbly Boots Roadhouse!

Another exciting event is happening at the Lake of the Ozarks on November 5, 2016, and Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is smack dab in the middle of it! The Lake Stock Fall Crawl is the area's "Woodstock on Wheels" - the grooviest night of fun you'll find this fall. Dog Days Bar & Grill has all of the details for you right here. 

The Wristband
It only costs $10 for access to every participating bar and restaurant on this Lake of the Ozarks pub crawl, as well as to ride on the shuttles traveling the route all night long. Every stop will feature its own live music, nightly specials, and crowd full of people having tons of fun. You can pick up your wristband at any participating location stop beginning next week all the way up to the day of the event.

The Buses
Bus transportation is included with the purchase of a wristband so that you are guaranteed a sober ride all evening. Have as much fun as you want and know that you can get to all of the fun safely. Buses will run a continuous loop around the route all night long. They will even make stops at all lodging facilities located on the shuttle route between the Bagnell Dam Strip and Hwy KK. You can find a list of hotels and rental houses on the Lake Stock Fall Crawl website, along with the weekend discounts they will be offering. 

The Boot
Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach, our sister restaurant that is open year-round, is on this year's pub crawl map, and it's a stop you're going to want to spend some quality time at! They'll have incredible live music on their stage, and as always, the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks served alongside delicious drinks. You'll also be able to catch up on the day's sports scores and catch any late-night games on their 21 TVs. 

Now how about that BBQ? They create their very own housemade BBQ sauce and add it to a delicious variety of tender, hickory-smoked meats. Their award-winning Wobbly Wings are famous around town, and the home style side dishes that accompany the meals are just like grandma used to make! Comfort food at its finest! 

At the bar, they feature 21 different beers on tap, including a few local Missouri brews. This is in addition to their brand new drink menu, featuring lots of specialty cocktails which include a long list of mule drinks plus the Pain in the A** you've come to love right here at the Dog.

The 2016 Season in Review - Thanks for Another Amazing Summer!

The fact that our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurant is closed until next spring is a sad thought, but when we take the time to look back at everything that happened here in 2016, we can't help but smile. Dog Days Bar & Grill had a very eventful season this year, and our incredible customers are a big reason that we had so much fun! Look back with us at all of the awesome events, amazing food, and great times we had this past season.

MARCH
3/11 - Opening Day

March 11 was the day that we opened our kitchen and bars and welcomed all of our wonderful customers back for another exciting season. In addition to the delicious tastes that we offer every year, we also had a special "Luck of the Irish Menu" to celebrate the St. Patrick's Day holiday, featuring dishes like Smoked Corned Beef & Cabbage, Schlafly Beef Stew, and Irish Corned Beef Bombs.

APRIL
4/15-17 - LOMDA In-Water Boat Show

For the month of April, our chefs came up with a mouth-watering "Sunny Spring Specials Menu." It featured flavors like Spring Chicken Salad and Pan-Fried Rainbow Trout. The bartenders also contributed with new drinks, including Mellow Berries and the Lemon Drop Rum-tini.

The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association always opens up the season by hosting their excellent in-water boat show right here at the Dog. This event always shows off the newest models of yachts, cruisers, fishing boats, ski boats, PWC's, and pontoons, as well as a few used trade-ins for sale. The vendor village highlighted all of the boating accessories and necessities that you could possibly need for a great day on the water. Expect to see this event right here again in 2017.    

MAY
5/7 - Spring Harbor Hop
5/15 - Homegrown Music Festival
5/21 - Nautique Proving Grounds Tour

The lake area's "summer season" unofficially begins and ends with the annual spring & fall harbor hops, and this year was no exception. A couple of brand new events for Dog Days Bar & Grill happened in May too. The Homegrown Festival was a day filled with Missouri's best beer, wine, and live music. The Show-Me-State really did show all of us some incredible things that day!

Our limited time "Mahi Mega Menu" made an appearance this month featuring dishes like Crab Stuffed Mahi and our Asian Mahi Sandwich. The monthly drink specials included a Pineapple Whip and Mango Moscato Creamsicle. 

Marine Max brought us an exciting Ride, Drive, & Surf event along with Nautique. Not only did they allow customers to get behind the wheel of their boats, but they also gave everyone the chance to get behind the boat and try their hand at wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and water skiing.  

JUNE
6/7 - White Party
6/17-19 - Canine Cannonball

Next came a couple of annual events that bring loads of people to Dog Days ever year. For the second year in a row, we hosted the White Party that originated at our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina. After that, we filled the giant pool and welcomed some pretty incredible four-legged friends and their handlers to compete in the very popular Canine Cannonball. No world records this year, but lots of action and friendly competition. 

JULY
7/16 - Aquapalooza

We celebrated the "Dog days of Summer" in July through our specialty menu of the same name. New dishes included Peach Habanero Baby Back Ribs and the Comanche Bison Burger. Some of the delicious drinks that graced this menu were our Frozen Hurricane and the Straw-Pomegrino.  

We get requests for the dates of our next Aquapalooza rolling in before the current one is even over! Our afternoon lakeside concert brought thousands of people, both by land and by water, to party together and experience a day full of live music on our waterfront stage.  

AUGUST
8/13 - Warriors Against Melanoma Poker Run
8/5-7 - Dueling Dogs

We are always proud to be a part of the Warriors Against Melanoma Poker Run, which raises funds for and awareness about this deadly disease. A new addition to our event lineup was born from the popularity of the Canine Cannonball. Dueling Dogs made its debut this summer. Instead of having one dog compete at a time in jumping categories, this time two dogs competed head-to-head to see who was the fastest. It was a huge hit! 

SEPTEMBER
9/15-18 - Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest
9/28 - Bogeys & Beef Golf Tournament

The lake area's 10th Annual Bikefest brought riders from all over the country to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and many biker-friendly bars and restaurants. We were a part of the passport ride for a brand new Harley Davidson, plus we helped to locate the best live performers for our own stages as well as the stage set up in the parking lot of the Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson dealership.

Our Bogeys & Beer Golf Tournament was just as fun as it is every year, and we raised money for many well-deserving local organizations. If you like playing golf and drinking, then you need to make sure you participate in this awesome golf tourney when we throw it again next year!  

OCTOBER
10/8 - Fall Harbor Hop
10/15 - Disco Party & Closing Day
10/19 - 15th Annual CADV Brunch

October brought the unofficial close to the lake area boating season with the Fall Harbor Hop (even though the amazing weather we've had has lengthened it a little longer!) A week later, your favorite waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks ended our season with the annual blow-out - the Disco Party! One last time to get together, share in some incredible food & drinks, and get funky in our grooviest get-ups. 

Not quite ready to quit completely, Dog Days Bar & Grill hosted a table and provided some tasty food for the 15th Annual CADV Brunch. They hold it every year in recognition of Domestic Violence Abuse Month, and it's their biggest fundraiser of the year. Due to the fact that this year's theme was "Favorite Decade," we whipped up a 1930's inspired dish - a Southwest Shrimp Beggar Pouch.  

WINTER 2016-2017... 
The doors won't be open to our waterfront restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, but we will be making plans for all of the exciting events, amazing live music, fantastic drinks, and mouth-watering menu items that we'll have for you in 2017. Also, don't forget that the Barrett Restaurant Group, made up of Dog Days Bar & Grill, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, and Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, is available to cater all of your holiday parties and yearly events. 

So don't be sad that this season is over. Instead, think back fondly on the awesome times that we had together, and look forward to next spring when we'll be doing it all over again, but even better!

Our Annual End-of-Season Disco Party is This Saturday!

When the best waterfront bar and restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks closes for the season, we do it with style... 70's style, that is! It's time once again for Dog Days Bar & Grill's annual Disco Party. Dust off those platform shoes and groovy dance moves, and make plans to say so long to the 2016 season with us this Saturday. 

Pick Your Playlist
DJ Dr. Cheese will be spinning all of your favorite disco hits all night long, beginning at 9 pm. We'll also be featuring Taz on the drums during the evening. 

It's time to start listening to the 70's station and pick out all of the grooviest songs to request this weekend. All the disco queens & kings will be on the floor, and there's no reason you can't be one of them! Here are a few of the best song ideas of the 70's to get you started.

Dress the Part
To really get in the mood to dance the night away, you'll want to dress the part. If you don't happen to have any funky threads in your own closet (and why in the world wouldn't you?) the local thrift stores are an excellent place to start your search. You can find inspiration from classic 70's TV shows like: Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angels, The Partridge Family, The Brady Bunch, Good Times... You get the idea. Think bell bottoms, bold patterns, polyester, lycra catsuits, sequins, and gold lame.  

The taller the shoe, the better, and while you're at it, make that hair big too! For the ladies back then, it was either very long and super straight, or great big & feathered. Fellas, this is the perfect time for you to don a great big afro, and don't forget the foxy facial hair to go along with it. 

Catch You On the Flip-Side
As much as we'd like to keep on truckin' the rest of the year, the 2016 season for this waterfront restaurant must come to a close. Saturday will our last day open, which means you positively cannot miss this party! We'll be back again next spring with all of your favorite flavors, amazing live music, and the best annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks, along with a few brand new surprises to keep you coming back for more. 

Until the lights go down this Saturday, Dog Days Bar & Grill will open at 11 am daily serving lunch, dinner, and everything in between. Stop by this week to have your summer favorites one more time, and don't miss the far out disco party this weekend. Be there, or be square!

The 31st Annual Fall Harbor Hop is This Saturday!

This Saturday the 31st Annual Fall Harbor Hop will be taking place, and Dog Days Bar & Grill is going to be the best stop you make all day long. Not only will we be serving up your favorite food & drinks, but the best waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks also has live entertainment, access to boat rentals & fuel, and the chance to pick up an extra card for your poker hand.

2 Card Stops at the Dog
This year's Fall Harbor Hop is Saturday, October 8, 2016, and there are over 40 locations participating around the lake area, including our excellent sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, plus Dog Days Bar & Grill, featuring 2 card pickup points of our very own. Between our two restaurants, you're nearly halfway to completing your poker hand!

The way it works is like this:

1. Begin by signing up at any Harbor Hop stop with an optional $20 donation, and draw your first card.
2. "Hop" to any of the other stops and pick up a card at each until you have completed your hand of 7 cards. You will turn in your completed hand at this final stop.
3. For an additional $5, you have the opportunity to draw an 8th card to improve your hand.
4. All hands must be turned in by 7 pm, and winners will be notified by mail. 

Rent a Boat at Dog Days

You don't have to own a boat to take part in all of the Harbor Hop fun. BomBay Boat Rental Co. has a rental shack at our docks, and they can set you up with the watercraft you need. No matter what size of group you'll be traveling with, they've got you covered with jet skis, ski boats, and tritoons available. That way you can both begin and end your day with us right here at Dog Days. Give them a call at 573-348-3433 to reserve your boat. 

Enjoy Incredible Entertainment

Make sure that you time your stop at Dog Days so that you don' miss hearing the amazing Noe Palma performing right here on our stage. He's a crowd favorite, and he'll be entertaining us all from 1-5 pm during the Fall Harbor Hop. 

The music doesn't stop at 5 though. Funhouse will keep the party going from 10 pm - 1 am. Our Late Nite Menu will be available from 10 pm until midnight, so you will have plenty of energy to drink and dance the night away. 

Harbor Hop Prizes & Stops

This favorite annual event at the Lake of the Ozarks is sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitor Bureau, Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association, and the many waterfront restaurants in the area. A portion of the proceeds help to fund this exciting event, plus promote the lake area as an excellent vacation destination. 

The rest of the money is given away for prizes in the form of gift certificates to many of the wonderful places that the lake has to offer. The best 10 poker hands will be awarded prizes, as well as the 4 worst hands of the day. There will also be a random drawing for 10 additional winners. 

Last, but certainly not least, the locations for the Fall Harbor Hop are divided into 4 different sections. If you draw all 7 of your cards within the same section, you have a chance to be the section winner for that area. We highly suggest section 3. You'll find the very best waterfront restaurants at the Lake of the Ozarks in that one!
